I switched it up a little. The third paragraph is just information on the dwarves now. I tried to make it a little comedic with the motto.

IT IS COMPLETE
I know present to you, drumroll please, my first vocabulary essay for the eigth grade,
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::Three 's Trials: Alixandre::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :

Elves and humans didn’t normally befriend each other, much less willingly meet, so I guess you could say we were a odd group. There was Entendu the Elf, naturally skilled at archery and stealth, having a keen sense of sight and hearing which was very relevant to him becoming a Ranger, a master of moving in the shadows and taking out enemies from afar. Then there was the elven mage, Athena, like all the other elves, she was tall, thin and white. She was a very intelligent woman with a good memory, which complimented the fact that she was a sorceress, having to memorize complex excerpts from her tome of magic, able to maim the strongest of foes. Last but not least, me, Alixandre the Knight. I am said to be an audacious figure. Handy with a myriad of weapons, I prefer a broadsword to deal with my opposition. We usually wore cloaks, Entendu’s gray and green to help him blend with the shadow’s, mine crimson red, the color of bravery and ferocity, and Athena’s blue, the color of wisdom and calmness. We’ve received plaudits from many for our various feats to save the villages and towns from all around. We couldn’t wait to visit the kingdom of Alokforme. We’ve heard stories from the villages and towns we’ve been too, the rolling hills, villages scattered all around, the smells of food wafting through the air everyone working in unison. That’s not what we saw when we got there.

The hills had an awkward silence, as if they were devoid of life. We saw many coils of smoke floating into the air, amassing into a cloud that hovered over the area, the smell of it was enough to stop a person from coming. We rode our horses to the top of a hill overseeing the others to check out what caused the smoke. What we saw perturbed us. The villages had been laid to rubble. The remains of a few houses were left smoldering. The crops and fields were burned. Entendu, with his inhuman sight saw something . He galloped on his snow white steed toward it. After dismounting he gingerly swept his fingers across the print in the ground. He couldn’t recall it completely, but he did see something like the print. He tried as hard as he could. Then it snapped into place. “ I remember seeing this in the Ranger’s Hall. It was the track of a Galwuy, a creature that walked like man but had the attributes of a reptile, group varying from group, some with the persona of snakes, other with the persona of dinosaurs.” “I thought those were extinct.” I replied. Entendu said “So did I. Most of the knowledge about them is gone. That was all I have. Now they are talked about in myths. The facts about them were taken to the grave with their owner, who was usually sent to the grave by one of them.”

The Council of Elites were people we needed to see. The Council of Elites consisted of the best of different jobs. For example, the best warriors and blacksmiths. Alokforme was a Dwarven land. The Dwarves were a proud race. They rarely resorted to using words. They’re motto was: A swing of our axe can change the perspective of any discordant imbecile. Though somewhat churlish, it proved true in various occasions. They were legendary for their fighting prowess and strength. They were also enterprising. Their advances in bonding metals to make them stronger, more durable, and more flexible all at the same time helped all. The axes they used, the various weapons us humans used, and the steel arrowheads the Elves used. All in all, the Dwarves could be a very dangerous foe, not skittish in the least, and would fight like a wounded beast if need-be.
We were vying with time. The fate of a kingdom was at stake. If the Dwarves were taken out, it would be a huge detriment to the three nations alliance. An old adage stated “If you preclude the downfall of another, someone will return the favor.” Helping the dwarves would surely strengthen the bonds of the alliance. A day later, as we arrived at the castle we saw two guards silhouetted against the sky, keeping a vigil among the outlying land. We stated our reason for coming and the guards opened the gate. What we had forgotten about Dwarves was their meeting ritual. If you could hold your own against a dwarf, then you have skill and are worthy to meet with the Council. Since I already had a good amount of experience dealing with melee combat, I decided to enter. I brandished my two-handed broadsword and was headed into an arena of considerable size. Word of our arrival must‘ve traveled fast because the seats were filling in quickly. The council came out declared the rules and allotted a time period which I had to last to show my worth. Then, the other combatant stepped into the arena. Wielding a axe with which he handled with much familiarity, he began shout to the crowd, exchanging mindless banter, probably aimed towards me. I was in no laughing mood. The duel started. We each sized each other up. I had an advantage in reach, but in close combat, I knew I would have to grapple with him. I choose to charge at him, hoping that my momentum would get him off balance. It did. I hooked the edge of my sword on the curve of his axe, making a hundred and eighty degree turn, using an overhead swing to fling the sword across the arena, and kicking him all in one fluent motion. I held my sword to his throat before he got up, and the Council declared me victorious.
It was time to meet with the Council. My companions and I tried to be as diplomatic as possible. We told them what we had seen. At first they thought we were joking. Athena decided to put her natural diplomatic skills to work like never before. “Like it or not, these are the facts. Galwuy are ravaging your lands. No other foe would be able to burn down the village, not leaving one house standing. Entendu is a Ranger. He is very adept at tracking. He’s seen the track and compared it to the one he saw before. It’s a match. We all thought they were gone, but we never knew for sure. If you do not collaborate with us, you do not stand much of a chance. Each one of these vile creatures must’ve evolved, giving them more skill in their dealings then before. They’re monsters, and if left unchecked they will rampage throughout the lands.” The way she worded it, she convinced all the Council to comply with our orders. One of the disadvantages the Galwuy had was that they were cold-blooded. They needed the sun, especially after meals to digest. We would take some of the best warriors and head off to find them. Each dwarf would wield two small axes and a war hammer or battleaxe. Entendu would scout for them. They would probably look for the hottest place, so they could store the heat and move from place to place. The whole army wouldn’t come out, but any type of impact on their forces was a good one.

It took a couple days to find them, but we did. They were led by what was probably the crocodile version of a Galwuy. He was probably a genera of the army. The plan was to have Entendu sniper targets from a good vantage point. Then we would have Athena use her magic to summon an elemental, a creature of an element of her choosing. For this battle she chose to make a golem from the earth. This wouldn’t scare the Galwuy though. They had seen it all before. It would be time to charge then. We would need to minimize losses on our side to keep an advantage. It was time to set the plan into action.
Entendu climbed a rock face and looked for an enemy to shoot. Carefully sizing up their weak points, he noticed some of them had small tubes when they opened their mouth. He decided to aim for these first. He began to shoot arrow after arrow. Entendu fired so fast it looked as if someone had shot a volley of twenty arrows in a minute. Each arrow had hit something, killing some, incapacitating others. Athena did her part, and a ten foot golem started attacking. We decided to charge. Athena kept a few meters from the battle, shooting lightning at the reptilian foes.. Galwuy were dropping left and right. A dwarf was lost with a sword lunge to the chest, leaving a gaping hole. Athena was knocked down in the fray, barely managing to cast a shield spell around her. The general spotted her, and so did many others Galwuy. Seeing as Entendu was out of arrows, his part was done. The Dwarves were fighting ferociously, but two more were lost. I ran towards Athena seeing her shield spell beginning to crack. I swung my sward in a horizontal arc, cutting some Galwuy in half, decapitating others. More Galwuy decided to attack, and the general who had barely managed to dodge was on the offensive. Fighting like a wounded beast, I swung wildly at the opposition. A sword lacerated my side but the fight was not over. Call it a hero complex if you will, but I was too willful to give up a fight and abandon my friends. I grasped an axe that flew overhead from another fallen Dwarf. With inhuman strength and speed I dual wielded the weapons. Broadsword in one hand, axe in the other. I struck down Galwuy again and again, and in one swing cleaved the head of the crocodilian commander. It is said that the Galwuy had never been afraid of any of the three nations. That was all a myth now, for when the commander fell, each Galwuy let out a shriek and tried to run. Athena had finally gotten up. With a newfound anger, she conjured up a massive shadow. The shadow followed the group and created a hole in the ground, then disappeared leaving the ground complete. Then she collapsed from exhaustion. It was finally over. Many had died that day, many had learned that no call for help should fall on deaf ears.
News of the event spread fast. The participants in the battle were venerated. The kingdoms shared a stronger bond, and the humans and elves became more social together. It was the end of a battle, and the beginning of a war…

That was a good read. I think you should have kept the dwarven motto written in though.

While it was good, there was really nothing that stood out about it. This is probably in part due to the short length.

Keep writing, you seem to have quite a bit of talent for this.
