#73  Hello?...*echo* Well, uh...If anyone still remembers (or cares) about this, i've got some new stuff! I won't go into detail, but as for the lack of updates and my EoFF activity... SCHOOL. School is overtaking my life. But I have had some time to work on ABD! I have a couple of episodes to post, and some...goodies, for all my fans.  Anyways, here's the next episode. Tell me if you like it! Episode #12 - The One Where They Talk About Ghosts Added - 9 / 22 / 07 *When we last saw our..."heroes", they were further inquiring about the identity of the fiendish and mysterious woman. Little did they know that she would show up unnoticed, and SNATCH "CANDY" (!!)...Not that anyone seemed to care. But anyways, Fran & Balthier are shopping for supplies for the trip to Jahara, while Penelo searches for Vaan.* Fran: Okay Balthier, what should we go shopping for first?... Balthier: *Rubbing his jaw* ...Y'know, ya didn't have to cast Silence on me! Fran: Pssh, that was in the past! Get off it, man. *Takes a quick glance over the nearby shops* Balthier: ...I say...We should go shop for magicks first! Fran: Okay. Balthier: I bet we could find some at Yugri's Magicks! Fran: *Dryly and sarcastically* O-M-G, REALLY!? Why, you're quite the genius! That thought hadn't even crossed my mind! Balthier: *Not sensing the sarcasum* Heh, and people think you're the smart one! *Fran rolls her eyes as she follows Balthier into Yugri's Magicks shop* Yugri: *From behind the counter* Hello, valued customer! Today we have a fine selection of magicks for the modern-day magus! *Yugri nearly leaps over the counter to greet them. Fran and Balthier take a step back as she rushes to shake their hands. Fran notices the shop is abnormally empty of customers* Yugri: So, what kind of magicks would you be looking for!? Balthier: WELL, I was thinking that we'd need... Fran: *Clamps her hand over Balthier's mouth* ...Yeah, don't listen to him. He's not so good with the business transactions. Would you mind showing us to your white magick section? Yugri: *Claps hands together* SPLENDID! We just got a new shipment of white magicks two days ago! Here...*Grabs Fran's hand*...Let me show you them! *Yugri pulls Fran enthusiastically over to a shelf to their left. Balthier wanders off* Yugri: *Pointing to different bottles* WEEEELLLL, over here we have a bottle of Cure, y'know for the beginner white mage...And right over there is Cura, for someone more advanced...Oooh, and up there is a sample of Esunaga. It's a little on the pricy side, but it's quite useful should the need arise. OOOH, and over HERE we've got... *CRASH! SHATTER! BREAK! SMASH!* Fran: What in the--*Gasp* Balthier!?!?! *Yugri and Fran both look at Balthier in horror. He actually managed to knock over an ENTIRE WALL'S WORTH OF MAGICKS!* Balthier: ...Uh, my bad. *Cheesy grin* Fran: ...Aye, aye, aye. Yugri: YOU BLUMBERING, PUS-BRAINED, HALF-WITTED IMBECILE! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU JUST DID!? Balthier: Umm, I broke a bottle or two... Yugri: *Mockingly* "Oh yeah, a bottle or two"...Or six, or seven, or TWENTY-THREE! Fran: Balthier...How did this happen?... Balthier: WELL...I saw this nice little bottle over here...*Lifts a tiny jar*...And decided to pick it up. It's label said "Ardor", and I thought that was a pretty word, so I... Fran: You what? Balthier: I...tested it's effects on this here, uh, wall o' magicky things?...Heh, heh...*Cheesy smile* *Fran facepalms, Yugri looks furious* Yugri: Well sir, that entire wall of magicks costs roughly...Oh, a measly, 75,000.08 gil! I hope you have the funds to pay for it?... Fran: *Turns to Yugri* ...Look, i'm really sorry! he's not usually this much of a failure. Please, can you find it in your heart to not charge us for all the damages?... Yugri: *Sighs angrily* Well, since you two are the only customers i've had in weeks...I guess I can give you a slight benefit. You only have to pay...25,000.08 gil. Fran: Oh, thank you! And I promise, next time you see us, i'll have him on a leash. Yugri: Yeah, well you better... Fran: ...Is there still a chance that we could buy some magicks? Yugri: ...Yeah, I guess. You guys are the only customers in a while, so I guess you could buy something. I mean, it's the least you could do... Fran: Why are we the only customers in so long?... Yugri: Well, there have been some...strange things going on in the store...lavatory. Fran: The...Lavatory? Yugri: Yes, I know. Balthier: What's that? *Fran and Yugri both give him angry looks. Balthier gives a sad frown then sits on a bench near the entrance, his head hung low in shame.* Fran: Continue. Yugri: Yes, well, customers had been complaining of strange moans and groans coming from within the bathroom. I took these claims as nothing more than faulty piping, but then the reports became more frequent and colorful. People started saying they saw a...ghost in the mirror. Fran: A ghost? Yugri: Yes, a ghost. Balthier: *Laughing* Hey, is 'er name Myrtle!? *Fran and Yugri both give him even dirtier looks. Balthier droops his head down low again.* Yugri: Anyways, I decided to investigate myself, and when I entered the bathroomm sure enough I saw a ghost. It had a creepy cone-shaped head, and big bracelets. Y'know, like the kind in the Waterway beneath the city. Fran: And that's why no one's been coming here, 'cause of the ghost. Yugri: Precisely. Fran: Well, me and some of my companions have to take an urgent trip to Jahara, but when we return to the city, we might be able to look into this, "ghost business". Yugri: Well, that would be right decent of you all. In fact, if you can get rid of that ghostie, i'll clear all of your debts. Well, i'd better ring you up and send you on your way. *Yugri goes behind the counter and begins fiddling with mercahnty stuff, Fran approaches the counter, but looks back at Balthier* Fran: You, go wait for me outside. And DON'T GO ANYWHERE, don't talk to any strangers, and don't eat ANYTHING you find on the ground. We don't want a repeat of the "Sidewalk Licorice" incident, okay?... Balthier: BUT- Fran: GO! Balthier: *Mumbling* You never let me have any fun, stupid bunny girl, with your big ears... Fran: What was that? Balthier: Nothing... *Balthier exits the store, a gloomy look on his face. He slumps onto the ground, examining the passersby.* Will Fran have enough gil to pay for the damages Balthier caused? Will Balthier finally behave himself? Will the EoFF networks renew Ashelia B'Nargin Dumbmasca for a second season? Stay tuned to find out... |
