Default KXT and Sain Cho

I was wondering if we could have a modernized Don Quixote tale. Here are my thoughts so far.

-------------------------------------------------

Don Quixote - KXT is the screen name of Quinn, a 25 year old who has been playing FF and other RPGs ever since he was 10. Losing his parents makes him "flip" and he starts going out in cosplay, walking through malls and museums as he was crossing fiend infested dungeons.

Sancho - Sain Cho is the screen name of Patrick, his best friend online and neighbor, a somewhat shy, overweight 18 year old that is worried sick about KXT and resolves to follow Quinn in the hopes of keeping him safe.

Aldonza / Dulcinea - Aldy is the screen name of Lucy, a goth girl that likes to cosplay as ugly beasts or evil characters. Quinn will treat her like a princess and give her a better screen name (sweet Lucy ? Dulce ? )

The niece / her suitor - A greedy lawyer and his law firm want to declare Quinn insane and pocket the inheritance he would get from his folks. To that end they create many situations that make Quinn believe even more on his fantasies, make even Sain Cho doubt his eyes.

--------------------------------------------------

The real story has a sad / tragic ending with Don Quixote dying, his books burned and his friends mourning his passing. I like happy endings so I might have a different take on that.

But what do you guys think ? Is it possible to rewrite a 600 year old tale using the net as background ? Any suggestions, comments, etc.. ?

What is the main "moral" you see on Don Quixote ?

To me the moral is that dreams (books, videogame tales) enrich our lives and although we can not let them be our lives like Don Quixote did, we need more of it - dreams and passion - in our daily life. Anyone who met the mad Quixote had his / her life enriched by him and they will all miss him. Do you agree ?

PS: And most important: What the heck shall I use for windmills ?

Very good ideas... I'm pretty impressed. I've always felt that Don Quixote's moral was about following your dreams despite what others may feel. It's about having passion for the things that are important to you.

I'm not sure how much I can help cause I prefer dark stories with sad but beautiful endings. Though I do write my fair share of comedies and romance I tend to have dark themes in them. As for the windmills? Perhaps a roller coaster mistaken for a dragon?

Great idea! Amusement parks sound like the perfect background from Don Quixote madness.

Yeah, I think in spite of my preferences I will stick with the original sad ending.

Txs for the feedback!
