The past is nothing like a shadow.
You see, shadows are all black
no color.
But if shadows did have color
I think they would look
a lot like the past.

In reality, shadows aren't really "black" per say, but rather a diminished area of light. The obscuration of light resulting in a darkening :P which therefor they basically have the color of whatever they are over. :P

But it doesn't matter, because this poem is sweet.
