#1  FFIX Fan Fiction Layout Zidane: We have been working on fan fics, in our minds for the past five years since FFIX, it's a series, and bare-in-mind first off this is only a layout, the more detailed editions we are currently in the process of writing, also, this may belong in the Writer's Corner, but we'll leave a Cid Knight or admin to decide and move as he or she sees fit(not meaning that as a flame of any sort), either way is fine with us. Final Fantasy IX- We believe everyone by now has played the game so it would be repetitive to explain that story, only thing to mention is that it is our opinion that everyone's guess on how long Zidane stayed away from Garnet at the end was flawed, we will not mention how long we believe it took Zidane to return to Garnet for many try to say that's a ridiciously short amount of time. Now for our fan fics...spanning the release of FFIX to now, keep in mind alot of this has never actually been published on the Internet for it takes a long amount of time to post it all in detail. No Holds Barred(six months after FFIX)- This story actually interconnects FFIX directly with FFI. Zidane & Garnet return from a party Lindblum to find Alexandria in ruins again. Garnet automatically assumes Kuja is behind it and heads to Treno with Zidane chasing after her to stop her. Once she gets her hands around Kuja's throat, she hears something powering up, Zidane manages to get both Garnet and Kuja out of Treno before the Invincible destroys it. Garnet manages to board Treno to find Mikoto controlling the ship, Mikoto has decided to become THE Angel of Death, attempting to destroy Zidane & Kuja, Mikoto then purposely crashes the Invincible escaping and leaving Garnet in it. While Garnet survive the crash with minor injuries, Mikoto reveals that so long as Zidane & Kuja walk on Gaia, she will continue to destroy cities, she also reveals a trait of the Invincible Kuja never mentioned...the Invincible regenerates itself. So Garnet takes it literally, and recalls from one of Doctor Tot's study session in Mythnology a planet people would travel to called Zenan, legend has it the Summoner Tribe originated there, it takes two summoners to make a portal so they go to Lindblum to get Eiko, Eiko & Garnet perform the ritual to make a portal and enter through...Mikoto keeps her word...now that Zidane & Kuja are no longer on Gaia, she no longer attacks cities. In Zenan, Garnet discovers that her real mother Jane is not only still alive, but she somehow became queen of the Zenan capital Cornelia, there are several trails and such Zidane, Garnet, Eiko, & Kuja go through in this world to prepare Garnet for the Destiny of the summoners that everyone says she is to bring. In these trails, they meet up with the Light Warriors a few times, and Zidane and FFI/8-bit theatre main character Black Mage get in a few verbal spats. Eventually, Zidane & Garnet discover a hidden plot of the summoners...the summoners were actually responsible for the destruction of the people of Terra, the summoner tribe in both Madain Sari and Zenan were power hungry and wanted the Invincible when it was first created. Garnet also discovers that Jane is simply using the legend of Garnet being the summoner of destiny to get the people(and Garnet) on her side as she plans to revive the tribe's ancient goals. Garnet is angered at this and goes into battle against her mother, Zidane goes into battle against Black Mage who is ordered by Jane to kill him. Kuja & Eiko have to deal with Cornelia's guards. Zidane gets the best of Black Mage but spares him, Eiko put in trouble she loses her footing at the top of the castle, and a mysterious portal opens up, Garnet grabs hold of Eiko's hand fearing this is a trap to some horrible. Garnet forgots about her opponent to save Eiko, but Jane deciding to put her summoner's horn to use, stabbing Garnet in the back midsection as she was trying to pull Eiko up. Eiko falls into the portal and closes, Garnet falls over Zidane having just defeated Black Mage at the entrance of the castle is there to catch his wounded lover, Jane's words as she walks away, "If you will not bring my destiny, I've no use for you." Zidane goes to charge at Jane, but Kuja holds him back, "Listen, if you go after her and fight through the reminder of the guards, we won't have the time to save Garnet...there are devices hidden on the Invincible that provide life support to keep people alive even when they are suffering from the fetalest of injuries, but the only way to save her with the devices is if we go back to Gaia now, you can come back and kill Jane later." So they return to Gaia, Kuja distracts Mikoto long enough for Zidane to gain access to the Invincible and put these devices on Garnet. Kuja finds himself in trouble against Mikoto and suddenly Black Mage appears to help out. While Kuja and Black Mage fight Mikoto, Zidane finishes up hooking Garnet up to the life support devices, and goes out to fight Mikoto, Zidane is under the understanding that all Angels of Death have a telepathic controlling over the Invincible which gives him an idea. He fights with Mikoto alone, learning that she herself can regenerate from sliced-off limbs and such, so he leads Mikoto to a mountain where he also brings the Invincible behind Mikoto, she doesn't notice because she thinks she has the upper hand, as she is about finish Zidane off with a range attack Zidane telepathically turns the Invincible updownside(this does not effect Garnet, because she straped down to a life support bed nailed to the floor), aims the eye beam at Mikoto, he then says "Regenerate from this!" and telepathically fires the beam pushing Mikoto into outerspace where she can't breathe. Kuja tells Zidane, "The best thing for you to do is take care of your wife somewhere else besides Gaia, where no one else will try to say you're kidnapping! I'll remain here and keep being chaotic because what can I say? That's my job. the Invincible IS capable of space travel so use it." and with a verbal distraction Black Mage gives Steiner & Beatrix, Zidane takes off into outerspace going to inhabitable planets to collect food and goods to keep him and Garnet fed while he nurses her back to physical well being. Wrath(her self-titled fan fic, one month after No Holds Barred)- Under the belief her daughter is dead now, Jane queen of Cornelia decides it was Zidane that turned her against her in the first place, if they never met Garnet would have never learned Zidane's "corrupt" ways. Jane decides to enter the Temple of Chaos and use a forbidden technique to create to create a summoner of destiny that will listen to her. She forms an alternate reality for a split second where Zidane never existed and pulls the Garnet with that reality...but little she does know what she's bring into this reality. The alternate reality- In the events of FFIX without Zidane, Garnet eventually ran out of options for people to trust, she ended up taking the way back from Lindblum to Alexandria alone to convince Brahne to stop the war plans, when the extraction event began something snapped in Garnet, there was no team to help her, no one to trust(Zidane really held the frickin' team together and even at times he held Garnet's sanity together), she awaken before Zorn & Thorn could finish the extraction and warped her power and somehow modified it several times, she destroyed Zorn & Thorn in no time, they were no threat, Garnet then sees the power Zorn & Thorn were trying to extract from her hanging her head. She goes into curiousity about this and spents time locked away in Alexandria Castle's library. Finally, Brahne makes her way to the library to confront her foster daughter and make apologies...but it was too late...the kind-hearted lady was no more for Garnet had learned too much about her culture, she renamed yourself after a fallen eidolon, Wrath, and blasts the queen of Alexandria away, she says to Beatrix as she enters "This is my era...Wrath's era...don't mess with me...and I might not mess with you...depends on how I feel today...and I don't feel well today." she blasts Beatrix away. Kuja may the attempt to destroy Wrath with the Invincible, Garland was of course inside the Invincible, "Oh no, a giant eye, it's going to kill me for sure." Garland hits Wrath with the Invincible's eye beam full force. Wrath rises from the blast, "That was nice, now try mine I call it Hellsedge." Wrath performs her blast that now has a name on the Invincible, it vaporizes the Invincible and Garland completely, Kuja tries to walk away from Alexandria in disbelief, only to find his tail being exposed and pulled, "Where do you think you're going? I'm about to have some laughs." She slings Kuja around by his tail for all the terrified townspeople to see, "What? Are you not having fun? Do you want to die?" Kuja responds, "Please kill me!", she responds, "No." she hangs him by his hair on a tree and floats back into her castle. Back to the story- Jane brings this horrible being into the real reality and destroys the alternate reality, after talking with Wrath, Jane realizes she made horrible mistake creating this thing and charges her with her horn as she did Garnet. Wrath holds her by the horn, "No, no, that's too cheap, but thanks for playing..." Wrath hits Hellsedge on Jane, "Now then, she said the me in this reality, but I sense she's still alive. Hmmm." Wrath forms an air bubble and floats into outerspace. Meanwhile- This reality's Garnet is still in a slow healing process when Jane stabbed her in the back, not able to walk much less fight, Zidane tends to her injury on a planet near Zenan. Garnet has improved however, she has the strength to chew solid foods again(which is good, she getting tired of eating soup.), and can stay awake for more than 10 minutes, but Zidane likes to make sure she gets as much sleep as possible, sleep helps the healing process. The battle that eventually takes place Zidane & Wrath is long and complicated, Wrath has several opportunities to kill Zidane but her new-found comical nature keeps her doing so, she even uses Hellsedge to scare Zidane intentionally. Zidane eventually develops an idea, he enters the Invincible, "Oh come on, you want me to blast you and me who is not really me, at the same time?" Zidane exits the ship acting on a theory because Hellsedge is a beam. He runs away from the ship and starts taunting her, "come on, finish me off, you can't! You know why? I show you why!" Zidane hits Trance and hits a new level of Trance called Super Trance, he's been developing it in training exercises while Garnet's been asleep, Wrath laughs at this because he's still not powerful enough to overtake her, "You really are stupid, g' bye." Wrath uses Hellsedge on Zidane, but what Wrath doesn't realize is for the brief amount of time Zidane was in the Invincible Garnet was awake, and he asked her to cast Reflect on him since he knew she had the strength to do that. The theory actually worked, Hellsedge bounced off the Reflect and hit Wrath knocking her into space somewhere. This doesn't kill Wrath, it is the reason half her face is bareskull. Wrath finds a place to cause random chaos until her appearence a fan fiction titled Dagger vs. Anti-Dagger, where Garnet is healed up and ready to fight her alternate reality. Events that really show no revelence- it takes another two months after Wrath(the fan fic) for Garnet to become independent of the life support devices, it takes another three months are her to make full recovery BUT some the midsection injury is permanent and will serve as a weakness. In that time, Zidane develops his own nick name(and btw, this WAS thought up BEFORE FFX) Garnie. Zidane & Garnet decide to do mecenary jobs on other planets deciding not to return to Gaia(when you think about it, this means they have no idea Lindblum & Alexandria have been destroyed in the Final Federation storyline), royal life has no challenge to it, so they decide stay away from Gaia. Garnet is taught how to advance to Super Trance by Zidane. Some time after Garnet's recovery, Zidane & Garnet decide to roam space searching for Eiko. Garnet has her worries that when they eventually find Eiko, if they even do, she will blame Garnet for her falling in the portal at Zenan and try to kill her, but she must know why whoever formed that portal had an interest in Eiko. The Search for Eiko(A full year after Wrath, the fanfic)- Zidane & Garnet do odd jobs every now and then to keep food on the table, most times the jobs won't last a week until they're off to another planet. They had just finished our last job doing delivery work for kingdoms on the FFIV planet and they roamed on to a planet that appeared to have one lifeform on it. This seemed odd, so they check it out, could this be Eiko? They land the Invincible on a mountain, Zidane walks out and is immediately attacked by a woman with a huge crimson sword. She knocks Zidane over a cliff where Garnet rushes out and catches Zidane's hand. The mysterious woman could choose to slice Garnet in half as she tries to pull Zidane up but she walks up to her and starts kicking the part of Garnet that was stabbed by Jane. Though Garnet is determined to keep Zidane from falling, she begins bleeding interally and her grip is weakening. Suddenly, she no longer feels the kicking, instead she hears swords clinging, she manages to now pull Zidane up barely and they witness the fight between the woman and a mysterious teenage girl in a mask and dark armor, using a sword identical to the woman's only light green bladed. The woman eventually retreats through a portal but both Zidane & the mysterious girl are shocked when Garnet says she recognizes the woman that attacked them. Eloza- Eloza was the daughter of Regent Cid & Lady Hilda, she was six years older than Garnet and was the polar opposite of Garnet. Where Garnet is always worried about today, Eloza lived for tomorrow. Where Garnet saw the negative in things and would blame herself for things, Eloza would show a careless additude. Still Garnet & Eloza were friends as Garnet's foster father and Regent Cid were friends. Eloza's sudden disappearence and eventual presumed death hurt both the Alexandrian and Lindblum royal families. It drove Regent Cid to his pub days and eventually the affair that had Hilda turn him into a frog. The mysterious teenager introduces herself as a officer of a faction called SprFleet, a faction in space made up of both the living and the dead. While the dead can't actually leave the dead world unless under high rank, the living can be sent by the dead to handle missions in the living world. She talks about the Demon Judge, a bodiless entity of mysterious origin, and Eloza is his current assistant. The girl eventually identifies herself as Razor and realizing her device that brought her to the planet to confront Eloza had broke, she asks Zidane & Garnet if she can use their ship, the Invincible to track down Eloza and see what she and the Demon Judge are up to. Garnet's word as stands there holding her rib area trying to spit out the rest of the blood, "We owe you one, I wouldn't have gotten Zidane back up if it were for you." Garnet begins to drop to her knees in pain. Zidane picks Garnet up, "You're hurt bad, I might have strap a life support device or two on you. Let's go." They enter the Invincible and Zidane straps a device made to reseal interal injury around Garnet's rib area. "You're gonna have to this on for a while." It takes a few days for them to find Eloza at a fortress in a planet on Planet Rewa. By this time, Garnet's back in business. They go to fight the Demon Judge who has control of an Arch-sage who is the head leader of a local cult in Rewa. "Well, I see SprFleet is trying to wreck my plans again, it's been 10,000 years, give up, I shall continue to gain power so long as there is chaos in the universe!" He puts his host's abilities to use but eventually a stab with Zidane's double lance takes the host's life and the bodiless entity retreats. Razor says, "We must charge him and attempt to destroy him while he's vulerable." They fight through the angered cult, and never actually catch up to the Demon Judge. After all the cult members are destroyed, Eloza appears. "It's been a while since we talked Garnet, you look very good in love. Would you care to know what I've been up while you were being swept off your feet on by Mr. monkey boy? My life since my abduction...my true abduction not to be confused with your runaway to my father, your Uncle Cid, 'abduction', it's been hell for me. In chains, taken from place-to-place wherever the Demon Judge went I would follow just because I was a potential assistant, his followers did what they wanted with me, I've seen abuse, I've seen destruction, I've seen chaos, so don't tell me your life has been bad just because you saw a couple cities blow up. But I stand the assistant now, because your real mother, my master's last assistant was destroyed." Suddenly Razor says, "Shut up, do not provoke Dagger into fighting you, your fight is with me!" Zidane & Garnet suddenly widen their eyes in shock, they never told Razor that Garnet had a nick name Dagger. "It was bad enough, my people, my tribe, and were in ruins after Garland wrecked it but then you went back in time not even under the Demon Judge's oredrs to go back to kill the rest of my people, your only mistake is you killed everyone while they were at the Iifa Tree, you didn't even search through the village where I, the only child left in the tribe was there." She removes her mask except for the dark goggles to reveal a summoner's horn, blue hair tied back with a moogle's ribbon. "Hello...my name is Eiko Carol, you killed my people, prepare to die!" Begin a fast and furious sword fight between the teenage form of Eiko and Eloza. Eloza trances to turn it up a peg, Eiko matches her and then upgrades to Super Trance, Eloza upgrades to Super Trance and is now under the belief she has Eiko beat. In a clash of the swords, Eloza starts overpowering Eiko, then Eiko smiles, "Now try Mystic Trance on for size!" Eiko suddenly completely overpowers Eloza upgrading to this new level, breaking Eloza's sword to pieces and slicing her head off. Eiko reverts to normal form, drops to her knees panting. "Mystic Trance takes alot out of you." She looks over at Zidane & Garnet, "Guess I have some explaining to do. The portal brought me to the future where I was trained into an Ark Knight and a SprFleet officer, when I found out Eloza was responsible for the disappearence and deaths of my grandfather and the rest of the tribe, I volunteered for the mission to get revenge, now may Madain Sari rest in peace." Garnet notices the part of Eiko's mask she didn't take off, dark goggles. "Would you take those goggles so we can see your eyes?" Eiko responds, "Fraid not, in a mission some broken glass went into my eyes during a fight, my partner Verge had to finish the fight for me. They restored my eyes but they're now sensitive to light. But hey, offhand that and me being raised and trained in the future it was just like old times. eh?" Zidane & Garnet laugh, Eiko continues, "I wish Verge could have come though, he's a great guy, mute, but we learned to talk to each other." Garnet responds, "Sounds like you found someone." Eiko responds, "Even I never get him to make a sound...yeah, I love him the way he is." A device goes off on Eiko, "Carol.", a woman's voice is heard on the device, "Looks like the Demon Judge escaped again.", "Fraid so, Admiral, sorry.", "No worries, this is one of many times, we'll eventually get him. I'm senting you a replacement transcore, Gainsborough out.", A device is teleported into Eiko's hand, "That was my superior, Admiral Aerith Gainsborough, I am alive but she is dead and can't leave the dead world which is why people like me are sent to stop the Demon Judge and others who try to cause an inbalance in existence. My home is in the future now, in SprFleet with Verge." Garnet stops Eiko before she starts up the device, "Eiko, listen...", "Dagger, I don't blame you that day I fell in the portal and that was SprFleet anyway, they chose me to do what I do now, and I'm very proud of my job. I gotta go." Time on Mystgaia(six months after The Search for Eiko)- Mystgaia is a planet with several different humanoid beings, it is the planet for a book we're writing called The Journal of Travis Brookland in this book, Zidane & Garnet meet Travis and his crew, Garnet takes an immediate interest in a lance wielding member with the group Leinita(she's called Leina for short.), Garnet senses that Leina is a summoner which is bizarre considering there has never been a summoner tribe on Mystgaia. Garnet teaches Leina the art of summoning and ends up casting up a gun shot wound for Leina but other then that, Zidane & Garnet are no factor in the main story. Rumble in the void(A year after their time on Mystgaia)- It's been a year since anything major has happened with Zidane & Garnet. They've been doing different mercenary jobs where they go but nothing exciting. Finally, one day traveling through space...a familar figure comes floating towards the Invincible in a bubble...Wrath, half her face is now bareskull. "Howdy...well hey me, good to know you're walking about last time I saw you, you were hooked up to life support." Garnet is confused because Zidane never really mentioned who he was up against when asked to have Reflect casted on him the day he beat Wrath, Zidane clears it up, "Garnie...um, that's you if you never met me." Wrath suddenly flys off, "Well, I'm off to Gaia to do some real damage. Catch me if you can!" The Invincible flys in hot pursuit of Wrath but suddenly a big ball of black emerges and swallows up the Invincible. Zidane & Garnet are now in the Void(as seen in FFV), there are three planets in the void fussed into all the land areas the Void was swallowed up. Zidane & Garnet go to the main planet learning about Envo. Final Fantasy V knowledge of Envo vs. the truth(thought from up when we weren't satisfied with the ending of FFV)- As opposed to what the legends say Envo was never actually engulfed by the Void, he engulfed it, taking it as his own, X-Death being engulfed by the Void was Envo's doing. Envo is the master of the Void, the only way to exit the Void is to defeat the master of the Void because you are then considered master of the Void being given the ability to form portals from and to the Void, so now Zidane and Garnet must defeat Envo to get out of the Void and stop Wrath. Back to the story- It's a long way to Envo's throne room once Zidane & Garnet get there, they are put in a tough fight with Envo, Envo uses Dark Holy to attack, after a while Garnet catches on to the patern and cancels Dark Holy out with Holy while Zidane strikes. Upon Envo's defeat, Zidane & Garnet are disappointed to find they are given no ability, then Envo reappears before them undead, becoming known as Tera Envo, he now uses an attack called Envo's Omen, it takes Holy and Grand Lethal(as Zidane hits Trance) together to cancel it out, finally after alot of Zidane frustration Zidane hits Super Trance and finally upgrades to Mystic Trance to hit Grand Lethal and finish off Tera Envo. Zidane & Garnet use the ability to form wormholes from and to the Void wisely, it can be used travel to anywhere so they use it(this once, they never really have a use for it, unless they want to use the Void as a secret retreat) to go straight to Gaia. Dagger Vs. Anti-Dagger(events during and after Zidane & Garnet's time in the vold)- Wrath has been at Alexandria Castle, the entire FFIX gang is there to stop whatever she's up to, but she's commited no violence yet and eventually Blank walks to her and asks. "What are you doing?", Wrath responds, "I'm looking for where Zidane and me from this reality met.", "I can tell you that.", Steiner interupts, "No!", Shut up Rustbucket, Tantalus would have been fine if Garnet 'til Alexandros XVII hadn't came into Zidane's life." He points out where Zidane and Garnet met, Wrath then says, "Okay, now I need to know Zidane was one minute prior.", "In the Knight's chamber.", Wrath stands fifteen feet away from the Knight's chamber, "So if someone were to shoot him with a beam that left no remains of him from here-", "I don't like where this is going.", Wrath smiles at this, "Thanks, bye bye now." Wrath disappears leaving a portal none of the gang can enter through, "What have I done?" Blank says to himself. Zidane and Garnet arrive, Zidane says, "Where's-" Steiner interupts, "She's in the past about to kill you.", Garnet responds, "Not if I can help it. This portal will probably I'm Wrath, since technically I am Wrath in a sense." Garnet leaps into the portal and tackles down Wrath right before she could hits Hellsedge, no one noticed them, and everything went as it was suppose to go, Garnet forces Wrath back into the present. Wrath is angered, "You witch, time to die, g' bye." Wrath holds out her hand to perform Hellsedge but here hand begins shaking, "What Why...can't...I...blast...you?" Garnet takes advantage of this and hits Super Trance(so far she hasn't reached Mystic Trance), and casts Holy, it destroys Wrath. Now they wonder why Wrath couldn't destroy when she had the chance. Steiner finally tells Zidane, "Listen, take the queen and go find someone you believe can assist you in figuring out why Wrath couldn't destroy her, but know this, just because the queen is kidnapped by you doesn't mean you two can't visit every now and then, we have all missed both your presence here in Gaia." Zidane smiles at this, "Thanks Rusty, I think I know where to go to find out what the deal is." |
