Default Triple Fugue in D Major - An Experiment in Dissonance (Not for the faint of ears)

This is a short little triple fugue where I tried to have fun with things that don't sound so good. I think I succeeded, personally, but I'll let you be the judge of that.

All of those things together sounded pretty nice, I liked it. Actually, most of those things by themselves were nice except for the organ-type thing that came in second.

2nd's and 7th's don't automatically make dissonance - it takes a little more work than that. It sounded like two voices were in standard harmonies (thirds, fourths, fifths) and the third voice was what created dissonance. Remove all pretense of harmony, pretend like you're mashing adjacent keys on a piano, and do it in the lower regions, and you'll get some nastier stuff.

I feel that Baroque music doesn't lend itself well to what you're trying to get at. The rules of the Baroque system are such that you simply cannot end up with something nasty without breaking a rule. You may need to step outside your comfort zone for that.

Alternatively, I could have been expecting something different from what you were trying to present. I should realize that you are primarily a Baroque writer and for the mode in which you operate this would be a good effort of using non-standard harmonies, in which case, good work.

edit: I should say this sounds like a mixture of jazz and Baroque, in which case, this could lead to more interesting developments.

It sounds a little more advanced than that stuff I hear my cousin make up.

I agree on the fun part, thus most of it reminds me of SNES Mario Paint. ^^; Um, well, I don't have much to say about this... Every time I listen to it, I see Chao Kindergarten from Sonic Adventure 2, or Mario Paint, or some other kidd-ish type thing.

That's some of the weirdest dissonance I've heard, and it really fits to what you're trying to get. It ain't chaotic, or despair filled, but playful. Well, you got what you wanted. (And, yes. What Neel said.)

Hmm... That's all I can pull out of it right now. I might add more later.
