I wrote this song for my band, tell me what you think please. Theyre not great but meh....

Effortless I slip into
The way I was when I was young,
The magic of a youthful mind,
Turned around against the tide,
And I can see the way for me
To find the I that is to be,
The only one that I can know,
I step outisde this rosy glow.

The misty glass I see right through,
An old man will follow true,
A distant love brought back to life,
A shadow figure, bloody knife,
And he has seen the way that I
Will find the only reason why,
It's not too late, not quite now,
I ride the stormy cloud.


It's my first proper try at lyrics so any constructive criticism would be fab.

What does it mean "To find the I that is to be"?

I think "A shadow figure, bloody knife," might sound better as "A shady figure, a bloody knife,"

"It's not too late, least not right now,"

Where does "I ride the stormy cloud" have meaning against the rest of the poem?

Yeah, some lines I got a bit desperate with. It's really not my thing but I'm the only one in the band that can do it.
