#1 I need a name for this story. ;-; If any one can come up with an appropriate title for the story, I'll give you a prize. With that... On with the story.. I'll update whenever I feel like it. That is if I added more to the story or not. =P EnjoyPrologue There he was, standing by the entrance of the National Guard Headquarters tall and proud. His name is Loki West. Loki isn't just your average guy. Raised in Arias, the capital of the desert nation of Arvygos on Ilgaia, they knew Loki as one of the best six-shooters in town. He had long, flowing dark-brown hair that he personally liked in a braid so it doesn't get in his view. He also had the clearest blue eyes that one living in Arias had ever seen, that one claimed to have seen a reflection of them while staring at his eyes, it was that brilliant to the view. Loki was also a neat dresser, but he often wore an untucked uniform of the Arvygos National Army which his friend gave him from a friend who has passed away a few months ago. The uniform was a sandy color used as camouflage, but it was also very light and not very heavy, good for traveling that soldiers usually go through during missions. Loki's friend's name was Jerome McDiass. His friend's sister is Alicia, and Loki shares an intimate friendship with her since his friend's death, that some confuse the two as lovers, which is basically not true. Sure, they have feelings for each other, but they were immediate and more like close, yet impersonal friendship they both share. Loki stood tall and stared at the entrance of the Headquarters. He took a deep breath and prepared himself. This was his first time at a place like this, and he wanted to make the best of it. He closed his eyes and took a final deep breath. This is it Loki, the National Guard. He thought to himself before he entered the building. Inside the building, it was littered with fellow young men like Loki wanting to join the Guard. Loki looked around, and noticed there was a line to apply. He shook his head in shame, Holy crap. Loki was then standing at the end of the line, and stood there waiting till it was his turn to apply. It wasn't very long, but it did bore him when he was waiting in the long line, by the time that he reached to the desk, he had totally forgotten why he had came to the headquarter, until he was asked if he wanted to apply. Loki smiled in an embarrassed manner. "Of course, isn't that why I came here in the first place?" The man behind the desk snorted. "Yeah, I believe that's the only reason everyone else is here too." He said as he handed Loki a paper. "Here's the paper, take a look at it and sign it." Loki grabbed the paper and took a rather long look at it. There was some requirements to become a soldier, but he was confident he had what was required from him, so he grabbed a pen on the desk and signed it. "Alright sir, here's the paper, signed." Loki said as he handed the paper back. The man took the paper and looked at it, and smiled. "Thanks young man. We'll call you when we need you." Loki smiled back and said, "Sure thing, sir." He then proceeded to walk out the building. That was a bit too easy. ~*~*~ Back at home in Arias, Loki's mother was preparing dinner, as it was nearing dinner. She had cooked Loki's favorite meal, PecoPeco meat covered by gravy. It looked good, especially since she's been taught by her own mother. Just as she placed the plates on the table, the door opened. She wasn't expecting Loki to come home this early, so she went to the door to see her son. When she entered the living room with the view of the door in plain sight, her jaw dropped, as if she saw something unexpected. It was a strange man in a white coat and hat. His face was covered in shadow, but it was noted that the most noticeable feature on his face would be his handlebar mustache. He smiled, and nodded to the woman. "Good evenin', Ma'am." He greeted as he removed his hat to reveal his long blonde hair. "Why, good evening, sir." Loki's mother responded. The man then entered the house and placed his hat on a nearby coat hanger, and then asked, "Are you Loki West's mother by any chance?" "Why, yes, I am Mailynn West, Loki's mother." Mailynn answered. "And who might you be?" The man in white bowed down to Mailynn in respect, and then responded, "My name is Vincent Van Holzskin, and I am the founder of Holzskin Academy." "The Holzskin Academy?" Mailynn asked in curiousity. "Yes ma'am." Vincent replied as he smiled. "I've just received an application from your son, and I seem very interested in him. I am in search of an excellent six-shooter like your son, and I do believe that he fits the bill of the kind of person I am in search of." "Yes, I see." Mailynn said as she carefully observed Vincent closely. "Anything wrong, Ms. West?" Vincent asked, inquiring that he was quite disturbed using the tone of his voice. "Oh nothing Mr. Holzskin." Mailynn responded, as she became more nervous. "Well, seeing that you are presently here, and it's almost time for Loki to return, I'd like to invite you for dinner tonight." "Why, thank you." Vincent said as he accepted. "I'd gladly stay for dinner, and hope talk to your son about joining Holzskin Academy." "I am very sure that he will accept." Mailynn said, with a smile. "I certainly hope so." ~*~*~ Loki ran across an empty street in a deserted area of the populated city of Arias. It was getting dark, as the street lamps were just turned on and glaring their light on the ground. Loki glanced at his watch to check on the time. Crap, I'm getting late for dinner. My mom will be pissed at me. He said as he sighed out loud in distress. This certainly isn't a good time to get late, especially when it was forecasted to have heavy rain during the night. He also didn't want to let the dinner go cold on him, but still, Loki continued running alongside the road. After a few minutes, a light from afore was shone on him, and Loki was blinded by the light. He counldn't see who or what it was, but he immediately recognized that it was a vehicle lighting on him. He shielded his face from the glaring light and shouted, "Who's that?!" The light of the vehicle went out, and a female opened the window and showed herself to Loki. He immediately almost recognized her. It was Alicia. He could recognize her violet colored hair from a mile, and to him, this was a voilet colored hair to him. He then said, "Alicia, is that you?" "Loki, what are you doing here this late?" Alicia asked, shouting from the car. "I am trying to get back home in time for dinner!" Loki responded, shouting back. "Well, can I offer you a ride home?" "Absolutely!" Loki said as he ran towards the vehicle. "Great." Alicia said as she opened the door for Loki. "Let's get you back home." ~*~*~ Loki's mother and Mr. Holzskin were in a conversation about the future of Loki and what he would do if he were to join the Holzskin Academy. Vincent was confident that Loki will accept, but Mailynn wasn't as confident but unsure. "Well, I guess we both can't really agree with the matter." Vincent said and he stood up from the table, preparing to leave. "Now if you please excuse me, I would like to go." "Why, of course. You can." Mailynn said, with a smile. Vincent reached a hand in his white coat and slowly pulled out an envelope with Loki's name written on it, and then handed it to Mailynn. "Can you hand this to Loki when he returns?" Holzskin asked, as Mailynn nodded. "I meant to hand it myself, but he wasn't available, I am positive that you can do it for me." "I will." Mailynn said. "Wonderful." Holzskin said with a big smile on his face. "Now, I must leave." Vincent walked towards the door, and grabbed his white hat from the coat hanger. He then looked back at Ms. West and gave her a friendly good bye gesture by bowing his head down will tipping his hat. "Farewell milady." He said as he went through the opened door. Mailynn smiled, then looked at the envelope that was handed to her. "I wonder what could be in this envelope?" She asked herself as she returned back to the table. Not too long ago, there was a knocking on the door. This alarmed Mailynn, but she suspected it was Loki, so she said loud enough to be heard from outside, "Come in." The door opened, and Loki stood there, soaking wet. "Loki, it's you!" Mailynn said in a good manner as she ran towards him to give him a hug. "Mom, please don't hug me while I'm this wet." Loki said, disappointed. "What's wrong sweetheart?" His mother asked, with a newfound worried tone in her voice. "Nothing really." Loki said quietly, with his head hanging in shame. "I know something's wrong." Mailynn said. "Mothers know these kind of things." "Well, alright mom." Loki said, hesitatingly. "I didn't make the Arvygos Guard." "How would you know?" A tear formed on Loki's eyes. "They said I didn't have what it takes. I didn't have the requirements." Mailynn hugged her son comfortably. "Don't worry about it Loki." She said in a respectful manner. "Oh, before I forget, a man from Holzskin Academy just came looking for you?" "Holzskin Academy?" Loki asked, as he wiped a tear. | Former Staff | Ok, I've decided to title the story Arms Resurrected! ![]() Ok, I also continued it. So here's the continuation. <3 ....... Later that month, at the prestiged Holzskin Academy off the outskirts of the Arvygon Desert, Vincent Van Holzskin walked among the students in the main hallway. He was with his assistant named Lem Oreck. Lem's appearance may seem dull, a normal person with dark brown hair and eyes. He was often seen wearing a soft-brimmed hat, but when he's with Vincent, he usually is without it, and wearing a tan suit. They were both talkin among themselves as they passed by the students. "Well Lem, any word from Mr. West?" Vincent asked. "Yes Mr. Holzskin, I just want to confirm that he will be coming here today." Lem said. "Excellent timing," Vincent said with a smile. "I will like to test him and give him more experience with ARMs." "Advanced Radical Machines?" Lem asked. "Yes, I need him to familiarize himself with ARMs before I send him off to his first mission." Vincent confirmed. "Wouldn't that be rushing him?" Lem asked, concerned of Loki's safety. "Of course not," Vincent said. "He'll have company." "Oh, yes..." Lem said as he tried to collect his thoughts together. "You mentioned before that he'll be joined with two of your best students." "Exactly!" Vincent said, quite amused. "Eli Whitmore and Milli Winters. My two best students." "Oh yes, Eli is quite the explosive one." Lem said referring to the fact that Eli's specialty were explosives and heavy weaponry. "And Milli is your best witch." Vincent stopped, and shook his head. "No Lem! She's no witch, she's my best student specialized in magic." "Basically a witch." Lem said smiling. As they continued to talk, a female student approached them. She was wearing the uniform required by all students to wear. A light green suit. In her case, since she's female, she wore a long dark green skirt. She had long blonde hair which she liked to keep in a ponytail. Her green eyes matched her uniform, and this pleased Vincent's eyes. She saluted at Vincent. Vincent smiled and acknowledged her persense. "Well, if it isn't the one and only Milli Winters." "Yes sir." Milli responded. "How is your training going?" He asked the student. "Training is going alright, I suppose." she said, as she twirled her hair by the finger. "I still need to study more magic so I can be better." Vincent smiled knowing that she was studying and training. Lem nudged his side, hoping that he could remind Vincent. "Oh yes, Milli, I would like you to come with me. We're going to meet a new student later today." Milli's eyes widen as she heard this. "Are you for real?!" She asked in an excited voice. Lem nodded. "Of course he's for real. This must be exciting for you." Milli's smile widened more. "It is!" She said enthuastically. "Great." Vincent said. "We'll need to get Eli as well." ~*~*~ |

| | I think your narrative seems to ramble a little bit at certain parts. Almost like you're trying to cram too much information into one paragraph in a hurry. Try slowing it down and expanding on it a little bit. As for the story itself, I'm definitely hooked! You've got an interesting plot and intriguing characters. I'll definitely be waiting for the next part! |

| Former Staff | ~*~*~ Outside the Academy, Loki was just at the entrance. He looked up the stairs to the entrance and had a smile. Wow, so this is Holzskin Academy, he thought to himself as he started walking up the stairs. I wonder how it'll be like inside. As he was walking upstairs, each step upwards he took slowly. By the time he reached the top to the entrance, he looked up again and noticed a sign above the large wooden doors that made up the entrance. It read Holzskin Academy. This is the place. He took a deep breath, and pulled onto the handle to open the door. He smiled and stepped inside. Inside, it was gorgeous. Though, the entrance hall was quite empty. On both sides of the hall, there were stairways that lead up to the second floor of the building. On the first floor, in the middle of the room, there was a round desk designed as the Information Desk. Loki walked towards there. A lady working for the academy was there, and she quickly spotted Loki. "Good afternoon sir. How may I help you?" She asked in a friendly tone. Loki walked over to her and looked around the room before putting his attention on the lady asking. "Yes, do you know where Mr. Holzskin's office is?" Loki asked. "Sure, it's right down the hall, first door to the right." She answered. "I think he's expecting you." "Why thanks." Loki said as he stepped back nervously. "I better go now." ~*~*~ Meanwhile, inside the office of Vincent Van Holzskin, Vincent, Milli, and Eli, a tall student fit to be an athlete sporting dirty blonde hair that he kept in his own style, were sitting down. Vincent was at his desk, and the two students were both sitting on chairs. Vincent leaned on his desk and held his hands together. "Milli Winters and Eli Whitmore, today will be the day our newest student make his debut. His name is Loki West. He's one of the finest pure shooters in Arvygos that I have had the pleasure to meet. I have assigned you both to assist him, because you both are my two best students in the Academy." Vincent said, while he glanced at the two student. Both students then nodded and responded. Vincent smiled and turned his chair around. "I'm sure you both are aware that this task that I've given you will be daunting, but I am positive that you both will be proof of your excellent marks at the school. I expect the best from both of you, and I also expect Loki to excel with the both of you." "Yes sir!" Eli and Milli responded. Then came a knocking on the office door. Was it him? Of course, Vincent knew right away it was Loki, so he went up and to the door to open it. Outside the room, Loki was standing there. All smiles came about on each face. "Welcome to Holzskin Academy, Mr. Loki West." Vincent said welcoming Loki in his office, offering a chair for him to sit on. "Have a seat and join us." Loki accepted and sat down. He looked around to meet his new company. "Loki, allow me to introduce you to your fellow classmates." Vincent said as he instructed Milli to stand. Milli nodded and stood up and twirled her hair while standing. "This is Millian Winters. She's my best student in the field of magic. She will be assisting you with anything regarding to the arts of magic. She's top notch." Vincent said as he introduced Milli. Her eyes twinkled as they met Loki's. She smiled graciously and bowed. "Welcome, if you have any questions for me, I'll gladly help you." "Thank you Milli, please have a seat." Vincent said, as he towards his head facing Eli. "Please stand Eli." Eli also nodded and stood up to Vincent's command. He lent his arm out to shake hands with Loki as they both shook hands. "Nice to meet you." "Eli Whitmore is also my best student. His specialty is in explosives and heavy artillery. I am sure that his assistance will come to hand when you need it most, Loki. Though, the only problem I've had with him is his explosive personality, so if I were you, I'd watch out if he blew a fuse." Vincent said as he smiled at his own attempt of using humor. Loki looked at his new friends to be and smiled. "Well, today has been a great day," he said. "I hope that I can exceed your expectations and graduate with the both of them." "That's the attitude to have Loki." Milli said as she smiled. Then all of a sudden, Vincent's phone started to ring. He excused himself from the three students and went to answer the phone. It was Lem. "What's that? You want to talk to me privately? I suppose so." Vincent said as he frowned a bit in major disappointment. "Alright, I'll be there immediately." He hung the phone and stood there. He then spoke out with a slight disappointed tone to his voice, "Alright, you three are dismissed. Eli and Milli, please show Loki to his dorm." "Yes sir." they both responded as all three stood up and left the room. Vincent sighed and left his office to meet with Lem. ~*~*~ |
