#1  in a playground monday morning [p] ringing school bells stinging eyes rubbing tears guilt and soil making mud twin streaks down his cheeks the taste of dirt and worms little child hands grasping playing scaring girls now grown man standing on the edge of a playground looking down like a cliff about to drop off "oh oh this is murder" he says to the gun he says to the boy little child hands grasping the chains and swinging pumping his legs quickening trying to escape gravity but only succeeding in slicing a longer arc through cold air "oh oh this is murder" he says to a bullet as his head is hammered sent flying across the tarmac and the boy is flung from his seat and swing sent spinning into the sky with all the birds off to eat worms. |
