What's you favorite story that you started but never got to finish, for whatever reason?

One story that I've been mulling over for years is the Crimson Cadre. The central characters come from two countries that fought a bitter war, but they are now friends. There are three central characters: Lot, Sophia, and Cassandra.

Lot is the regent of country called Aetheria. He's a brilliant tactical commander and fearless warrior, but absolutely clueless about personal relationships.

Sophia is a sorceress from the rival country of Effluvia, which was conquored by Aetheria. She's currently the Effluvian ambassador to Aetheria and works closely with Lot, who she's quite fond of.

Cassandra is Lot's adopted daughter. She's a war orphan that Sophia gave to Lot to raise. Now in her teens, she seeks to become a great warrior. She also is trying to matchmake her father with Sophia.

That has always been the heart of the story. I've done several drafts and incarnations (veering between something out of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon to a shojo manga style story).

I even used it as the storyline for games I worked on in RPG Maker and RPG Maker 3. But I've never finished it.

I have had many stories I have started that have died, or I wrote myself into a corner. One was involving a zombie outbreak, the first instalment would follow five individuals as they tried to remain alive for an extended period of time locked in a wearhouse, the focus wasn't on the zombies but instead the interaction between the charecters in a high stress situation.

Probably Shades of Life, but I'm still working on that. I like everything about the plot I've put together, but as with most of my stories, its long, and will take me forever to finish.

I've finished every book I've ever read, even if said book turned out to be terrible by the end. I have however start to write a few books that I never finished. One was a post-apocalyptic tale about a man who makes swords out of organic metal, another was a purposeful plagiarism of Final Fantasy 10.

I have several unfinished stories. One of my favourites is a Final Fantasy VIII fanfiction with zombies in it. It's like a cross between Final Fantasy VIII and Shaun of the Dead.

I have several unfinished stories. One of my favourites is a Final Fantasy VII fanfiction with zombies in it. It's like a cross between Final Fantasy VII and Evil Dead.

But some of my favorites include Sonix, Scars of Ilrea, & Tutkaiden. Most of my stories are typically elemental in general.

I have problem with going far, far ahead in my head and when I actually sit down to write, I get impatient with my progress. Also, this one story I started I never finished because it got boring. I realized it was a "villian of the week" type of deal where everyone rushes the enemy and then the main character finishes it off.

I frequently have this problem while writing Historical fiction. For whatever reason, I just can't finish this kind of work. Currently I have pretty bad writer's block, so progress on anything has been painfully slow.
