For my stories, I always have the Beginnings, Climaxes, Special Events, and Endings already planned. Anything else is basic freestyle thinking like Freestyle Rappin'. But, it's ironic that I can't really Freestyle Rap yet I can come off the top of my head with a story in a second...

I know the beginning when they meet new people and how the end will happen. The outcome of the end is hard to decide for me though.

I do a mixture, as others seem to. I've got the main characters and main plot themes in my head, but how it all fits together is figured out as I'm putting finger to keyboard.

When inspiration hits me I wait for more ideas to come out of thin air. Often, if I wait long enough I know everything I need to start. The book I'm nearly finished now, I had this great ending planned out and before I knew it it didn't happen and a similar situation happened halfway through. It's strange the way it can just take itself away.

I've never plotted anything out, though I may have a vague idea of what is going to happen. My next novel has been beating around inside my head for months. I had a dream which inspired it, well several nightmares which all made sense together. I figure there has to be a reason I dreamed them.

The way I see it, unless you're writing something plot oriented which requires careful plotting for it all to make sense you're better off to write it as you go. What fun is it to write if you already know what is going to happen before you even start?

I can't say this applies to story writing, as I don't write stories. However, whenever I write a poem, I usually have a general idea of how I want it to go, and the words just come to me.

I agree. However, I can see some similarities through us all. But the difference is clearly obvious as well. And I'm glad to be different then the two big wigs.

Aren't I a big wig too? *sniffles*

But yeah, of course we all have varied methods.

I usually end up redoing the same damn thing so much in my current Game STory that my main characters are hardly similar to when I started.

Though as it is now I throughly enjoy the changes. I think I'm on the fourth, fifth version of my main character.
