Where once I stood in the shadow of doubt now I wander from the valley of the down and out into the waiting arms of a beautiful world, like a beautiful girl giving me hope.

Though once I struggled in the grip of pain, loneliness and heartbreak all felt the same, and I wondered where the war within would ever end, would it all just begin again?

Today's brand new, the sun sees me through as I look down at the faces of those who've seen me do my best and fail and try and bail, get up and fight my way back to the top.

Takin' a moment, just stop to look out this window to see strangers and friends and the girl I fight for. A smile and a laugh and a word for my ego, each thinking of the other, ain't no matter where we go.

Once upon a time, I was torn asunder. There was chaos in my mind like a cloud o'thunder. It kept from the girl whose spell I was under. So how'd I get here now, that I'm forced to wonder.

If I didn't fight, where would I be? If I didn't struggle on, what in the world would I see? If I didn't write, who would care about me? If I didn't talk, who the hell'd even know me?
