#1 Well, Again I give you another Story of Corncracker I started working on. Title is up for change though, but here's the first Chapter. Enjoy. Chapter 1: The Prophet They were running for their lives. The two men were running through a narrow valley pass, trying to escape a group of pursuers. One man, named Toban Alba, stood at 5’9, his short brown hair messy and heavy against his head from the pouring rain. His light gray eyes peered forward as he tired blocking the rain from his face using his right arm. His face was covered with scratches and trickles of blood and his leather armor’s shoulder pads had been sliced off, leaving blooded marks atop both his broad shoulders. The other man was named Tristan Wesley. Standing at 5’6, he had blonde hair that was shoulder length, and under the heavy rain he was barely able to see through his hair, as it was pressed against his face, his brown eyes barely visible through his hair. He was topless at this point, his body covered in cuts, the only clothes he had were tattered brown pants and his brown shoes. Toban had his Long Sword Sheathed at his right, and Tristan still holding his Large Battle Axe in his hands, the two continued down the valley. They had met earlier that day, and within hours were already running together for their very survival. By appearing at the wrong place, they were both caught up in an unforeseeable event. They knew not why this group had ambushed them without saying a word. The only thing they knew is that their lives were at stake, and they would have to work together to make it out of this. So together they ran towards a town called Storba. They hoped to gain some safety within its walls, and hopefully find out what’s going on. They were relieved as they saw a massive stonewall, as they knew Storba was right at their feet. Toban looked over his shoulder briefly to see that the pursuers were no longer there. He nodded at Tristan, who nodded back as they began to slow to a walk. A guard was posted by the gate in a little bulge in the wall with a small window. Seeing the two battered men approach, he gave a quick hand signal and massive wooden gate opened, allowing the two men to enter the town. As soon as they entered, they had both collapsed by the guard, their vision blurring rapidly until everything went black. “Hello?” came a soothing voice over Tristan’s bed. He awoke, his body covered in white wrappings. Tristan looked up to see a beautiful Nurse. He bright and fluid blonde hair hung over Tristan’s face, as the nurse was bent over slightly looking down on him. Her deep blue eyes, milky white smooth skin, and her fair red lips momentarily entranced him. He quickly snapped out of it and started to sit up. “Where am I?” he asked, his voice surprisingly smooth given his shape. “Please, lay back down,” the nurse said, pushing down on his shoulders to make sure he didn’t get up. “As much as I love the feel of your fair hands,” smiled Tristan with a slightly flirty tone added to his voice, “I actually feel quite fine now fair maiden. So if you please, I would like to go see my friend Toban.” The nurse blushed deeply, though still held down Tristan, “I-I’m sorry, but I can’t let you up. However your friend is in the bed next to you.” “You weren’t kidding when you said you love the ladies, were you?” Calmly laughed a low voice next to Tristan. “Why of course Toban, I’ve always had a weakness in my heart for beautiful women such as this lovely nurse here,” he smiled turning his attention to the nurse, “My I inquire your name malady?” “It’s Allie,” she replied blushing; now with a small smile, “I’ll leave you two to talk. It seems you have something important to discuss. I’ll be back to check on you shortly.” “You lay it on thick don’t you?” asked Toban as the Nurse left. “Indeed, I was always taught that women are the most precious thing in the world,” he chuckled, “pleasing them has always been a priority.” “At least you’ve found a purpose in life,” chuckled Toban, “But more importantly, why did those guys attack us like that?” “IT is rather strange,” replied Tristan, now sitting up stroking his smooth chin with one had. “Strange, clothed you look to weak and scrawny to use that large axe of yours,” said Toban almost chuckling, “and without your clothes you look noticeably stronger, yet you still don’t seem like the type to use such a weapon.” “It’s a special training I had,” Tristan replied, “I can’t really give you the details, but it allows for immense strength while keeping muscles compressed to a minimum size and keeps speed optimal.” “Well, at least I got stuck in this with a strong ally,” Toban said standing up, “Lets say we get out of here and get some new clothes.” “But what of the nurse’s orders?” smiled Tristan laying against the back of the hospital bed, “She said to remain here, so she could return to care for me?” Toban just started laughing, “Also an amusing ally, you can get up fine,” his laugh calmed down, “You’re more than capable of moving around fine.” Tristan stood up chuckling, wearing only the white Hospital pants. “Indeed, but I so looked forward to seeing the nurse again.” “Don’t worry, if things keep up how they’ve been, you’ll be seeing her plenty,” Toban laughed as he walked out with Tristan following behind. “I’m sorry, but I can’t permit you two to leave yet,” said the Nurse from before. “I do apologize, said Tristan, lifting up her hand and kissing it, “but we cannot stay here. We have much to do, but I shall return to you soon,” he released her hand and began walking off. The nurse Allie only stood there in shock, a deep red over her face. Though they were stopped at the front by an older man in a doctors outfit, “You seem fine enough, however I must ask you for 50 gold coins each for the stay.” “Isn’t that a little expensive?” asked Toban. “Normally its cheaper, however you were rushed here with no appointment, and I had to be called in on my day off to treat you,” he said bitterly. “I’ll cover it,” smiled Tristan, “Since you have our clothes, you can take the hundred gold from my pouch.” The doctor nods to the person behind the front desk, who proceeds to take 100 Gold from a pouch and hand it back to Tristan, “I apologize, but your clothes are completely ruined.” “It’s alright,” Toban said, “We were going to get some new clothes and weapons in town anyway,” they nodded to the doctor and the man behind the desk and walked out. “I wonder what people arethinking now,” smiled Tristan, “We have myself and a rather large muscular man walking around half naked, I bet together we could gather quite the large group of ladies, wouldn’t you say?” Toban just laughed, “At least I don’t think we’ll ever be board. I believe this is the start of quite the interesting friendship,” the two laughed as they went through town to get clothes and new weapons. They finished shopping around town. They were standing in the center of a buys market, now fully dressed. Tristan’s hair was smooth and shiny now, the cuts on his face healed showing his smooth skin. He had bought himself a shiny light set of Iron Armor without arms or leggings with a large Battle Axe strapped to his back. His pants were slightly baggy gray pants, and hard leather shoes. Toban stood in Hard leather armor, covering his full body. Across his back was a long sword and Metal Shield. “Seems we are ready, where shall we start our search?” asked Tristan. “Where all men go to gather information, the Tavern,” smiled Toban, “Besides, it’s been a while since I’ve had a good drink, and I hear this place has a special ale you can’t get anywhere else.” “So, we shall drink and gather information?” laughed Tristan, “Generally not the best of things to do together, but I get the feeling you’ve done that quite a bit in your time.” “Of course, I’m a man who loves a drink,” chuckled Toban as they walked towards the nearest tavern. Once in the tavern Toban sat at the counter, “Hey, bartender, I’d like this places special ale.” The bartender sat a mug of regular looking ale, “It’s called Storbale, after the town. That’ll be 2 gold.” “For that much, it had better be good,” Toban said giving the man 2 gold coins. Realizing this may take a while, Tristan decides to gather some information on his own. He looks at the bartender and asks, “Excuse me sir, do you happen to know much about a group who attacked us yesterday?” “There have been a group of ruffians running around recently. They may be the same people who attack you,” the Bar tender said wiping down a mug, “You must be the two that got dragged in yesterday during the rain storm.” “Indeed, we’d like to know about this group if you don’t mind,” Tristan said. He saw a greedy look in the mans eyes, and only smiled a little as he pulled out a few gold coins and handed them to the man. “Seems you know the way this works,” the Bar tender smiled and knelt over to Tristan, “They have been going around town asking about a guy called the ‘Prophet.’ Rumor has it this Prophet fellow may be Corsa, a man who lives in the caves deeper in these mountains. They seem to be preventing people from passing to see the prophet, but normally they only attack people who they know are going to see him.” “But neither me nor my companion were going to visit the Prophet. We only met along the way, and happened to be passing through here, why would they attack us?” he asked. “They probably thought you were someone else, a case of bad timing it would seem,” he replied. “Thank you,” Tristan said, returning his gaze to Toban, “So, shall we be gone?” Toban had just finished his ale and turned back to Tristan, “Yeah, and that was some damn good ale, you should have some when we get back here.” “Indeed, though now I think we should go see this prophet,” laughed Tristan, “maybe we will found out why were attacked,” Toban nodded as he got up, heading out of town with Tristan towards the mountain caves to find this Corsa. |

| | And here is Chapter 2, which is mostly to introduce a few new characters. A few key plot points are brought up here, though its not the most exciting chapter. Chapter 2: Ninten Brothers “Hello there,” said Tristan, sitting down at a bar next to a man with short spiky black hair. He wore a White monks robe with a Blue Belt around the waste, and was about 5’10 with Blue Eyes. “You must be the person asking around about magical axes, are you not?” replied the robed man in a rather laid back and slightly playful voice, “I’ve heard of one recently myself.” “Really?” replied Tristan in a rather excited voice, “I’ve been looking for magic axe’s for a while now, as I am a wandering Warrior myself. Would you mind telling me its location?” “Sure,” the man hands Tristan a small map with directions on it, “Follow this path and you will find the axe. I have no need for it myself.” “Thank you sir, is there anything you need from me for this kind gesture?” asked Tristan, seeming very happy with his new map. “Actually, I was just leaving to go back home,” said the man stretching as he stood up, “I just had no need for it so decided to lend a hand, good day to you sir,” and with that he walked out as Tristan began flirting with some of the cute waitress’s. “That went easier than expected,” he man smiled as he walked away from the small town he was in, “Brother Eric will be quite pleased it went so well, lets just hope he succeeds on his end. “So, you are the demon expert?” asked Toban, speaking to a man, caped in a black robe with Golden lining around the Hood that covered his face and sleeves. “Indeed,” he said in a low dark voice, sitting behind a booth that had been set up in the market area of the town, “what is it you wish to know?” “I wish to find a way to exercise a powerful demon,” Toban said in a low voice. “I am no exorcist, however I hear of a powerful cleric who can exercise any demon, however the information shall cost you quite a bit,” he laughed lowly as Toban sighed. “Money isn’t a problem, however how can I trust your word?” Toban replied in an accusing voice. “Money is not my payment, it is some information I would like,” he laughed again, “Tell me, what is the name of this demon you wish to exorcize from yourself?” “So its obvious I’m the one with a demon?” sighed Toban, “I hoped to keep that a secret, but if you must know the name it is Belfor.” “Alright, here,” the strange man hands Toban a piece of paper, “Follow that map and you will find the cleric who will exercise the demon for you.” Toban simply nods and walks off, wondering what the man wanted to know the demon for. As soon as Toban was out of sight, the man laughed and removed the cloak. Under it he wore a White monks robe Black belt, his hair short hair black brushed down, and his eyes colored blue, “That was rather easy. I just hope that Ixis didn’t screw up,” and with that he proceeds to leave town to meet up with Ixis. “So, Eric, how did it go?” asked Ixis, as the two stood just past the town of Storba outside the caves. “Quite well,” Eric said with a bit of a laugh, “He fell for the bait, and those bandits probably captured them already, and found out it wasn’t us by now.” “Yeah, and when they find out they got the wrong guys, they’ll feel stupid when they realize we slipped by unnoticed,” laughed Ixis. “At least we can be sure they won’t die, thinking its us there is no way they would kill them before they find out where the orbs are,” laughed Eric. “So, you set me up ay?” Came a strangely relaxed voice from behind the laughing brothers. They turned to see Toban and Tristan standing behind them, realizing they hadn’t been paying attention due to their laughing, “and all to hide these orbs?” The brothers jumped back and both took fighting stances, “I take it you aren’t to happy with us for that eh?” smiled Ixis, "I am sorry, but it was necessary.” “Really now?” asked Toban, unsheathing his long sword and steal shield, “tell me, is it important enough to fight us for it?” “Indeed,” Eric said in a low cunning voice, “seems you catch on to its importance rather quickly. I am sorry, but if you are interesting in the orbs, you wont’ be getting any information out of us.” “Yeah,” chuckled Ixis, “Do you think you can beat us? Do you even know who we are?” “I am Lighting Bear Eric of the Aduro temple,” Eric said. “And I am Wind God Ixis of the Ventus Temple,” Ixis said. “So you to are the guardians of those fallen temples then?” asked Toban, relaxing his guard, “Of all the elemental temples, they said that you two were the strongest guardians, though for some reason you had lost your strength, and went missing. However I have a hard time believing what you say.” “You could say we are simply planning to ascend to their level,” Eric smiled, sounding as though he had something to hide, “Given they lived 5000 years ago according to the legends, it seemed they needed some replacements.” “Tell me, is that why you seek the orbs of the elemental temples?” asked Toban, now sheathing his weapon, no longer feeling the need to be defensive. “What makes you think we don’t have them?” asked Eric. “Simple, you obviously believe in the legends, so if you had the orbs you would have the powers of them, and wouldn’t have needed to use us as bait,” smiled Toban. Eric frowned a little, “Seems you keep up on your legends. No point in hiding our goal from you, we seek the elemental orbs to restore the lost Elemental Temples. Bringing them back on name alone would fail, without the orbs they will never be as successful.” “So, you actually believe in those old legends,” laughed Tristan, “seems rather far fetched. Though I don’t see the problem in believing in such a thing, how about I come along for the ride?” “You sure that’s a good idea?” asked Toban, “They deceived us before, may not be to wise to go with them.” “Don’t worry so much,” Tristan said patting Tobans right shoulder, “besides, no reason for you to come along if you don’t want. I get the feeling you are looking for something quite important, wouldn’t you say?” “Well, this prophet here may be able to help me, as its probably the reason you are here, correct?” Toban asked. “Indeed,” Eric smirked, “I here he has powers of vision, and was hoping he could point us to the orb. So, I take it we are heading in together?” “Alright,” Tristan said marching forward, “IT seems we all benefit from seeing this prophet.” “You go on ahead, I have a few things to ask Eric,” Toban said. “Alright, lets go, Ixis was it?” The two smiled and walked into the cave leaving the other two behind. “So, did you tell Ixis of my demon?” asked Toban. “There was no point, Belfor a demon I’m not worried about,” smirked Eric. “So I take it you do know a bit about Belfor?” asked Toban. “Indeed, a demon who had tried to take over the underworld time and time again, and never once did he succeed in any of his attacks. As far as demon generals go, there are none weaker than Belfor. His only note able feature that he claimed to have is that it was impossible to exercise him. Even I could take on Belfor as I am now, without the power of the Lightning orb,” Eric said smiling. “Alright, let us go then,” Toban said. As he passed Eric a smirk crossed his face, IT seems he had no clue of the details of Belfor then, its probably best for now. The two met back up as the proceeded into the Caves. “My queen,” said a man kneeling down in front of a woman. Her light brown hair extended straight down to the middle of her shoulder blade, and her sharp gray eyes had a piercing gaze. Along the top of her head was a blue head wrap, which still allowed her hair to flow down. She wore a red Halter-top with only one strap and that exposed the upper portion of her back, where the tight white wrappings she wore around her chest could be seen. Here Blue loose fitting pants went down to her knees where it looked like they had been ripped off. “What is it?” she said in an almost seductive voice. “It seems that the two they were trying to prevent from seeing the prophet slipped by using decoys, in addition they escaped and now all four go to see the Prophet,” he said. “I see,” she smiled, “It seems we will have to send in our special forces, wont’ we?” “Queen Zartaya, Solda is the only one in the area, should I give him and his group word to move?” The man asked. “Isn’t Alaki with him as well?” asked the queen, a little worried. “Indeed, however I believe he is strong enough to protect her and accomplish the mission,” he replied. “Alright, make sure the top priority is to defend the girl though,” she replied and waved him off with a smile, “Perhaps if they are strong enough, they can find the orbs unlike my men. We shall soon see.” |

| | I give you the first Chapter with real fighting. Also I have included word Attachments of Chapters 1-3 for those who can open it, as it looks nicer. I'll still be posting the chapters in here though, for those who can't open the word files. Chapter 3: Corsas labyrinth. The four had wandered into the cave, and while it looked like a normal cave, something seemed wrong. There were several twists and turns, to a point it was unnatural. In addition there were torches that never seemed to burn out. “It seems Corsa doesn’t like people very much,” muttered Toban. Tristan chuckled a little at the remark, “Don’t worry my friend, at least we have time to bond, eh?” The two brothers trailed shortly behind Toban and Tristan so they would not be heard, “So, Ixis,” Eric said lowly, “What’s your take on Tristan? We can handle Toban fine, but if something happens, will we be able to fight Tristan in our current state?” “No worries, he is a man of small stature wielding an axe, he doesn’t have the strength to use it effectively,” smiled Ixis, “however I don’t think we will have to fight them for any reason. They are good people.” “Even good men can turn on each other in the right circumstances, its best to know where we stand if that happens,” he replies calmly. Ixis’s smile began to fade a little, “I know, but lets not worry to much about it now, I think its best to avoid thinking of what could go wrong and focus on avoiding such a situation.” “Alright, lets catch back up with them then,” they nodded and moved forward to catch back up with the others. “You two have any Ideas on how to get through this cave?” asked Toban, looking a little flustered. They stop at a three way fork in the cave, Toban and Eric carefully examining the two paths, “The right path is man made,” calmly said Eric. “How can you tell that?” replied Tristan. “Simple, if you look closely there a chisel marks. Likely all he made many of these passage’s, or someone before him given how many are here, they existed before. The only question is, is he hiding behind the old passages or the man maid ones,” Eric said, pondering. “Simple,” smiled Toban, “If these walls were made before his time, we only need to figure out where the first person was. And I have just the plan.” “And what would that be?” asked Eric. “Simple, you seem to be able to see a fake passage, so look at all three of them. I get the feeling more than one of these three are fake.” Eric looks them over closely, seeing that the right and left paths were both fakes, and the right one looking older than the other, “It seems the left is fake as well, though this right one was made longer ago.” “Its safe to assume then that Sorda was not the first to live here, and he is the kind of person to not welcome anyone it would seem,” Toban smiled, “That would mean he would likely not go back to where the other man was, and instead make his own room. Its likely then that this newer path is the one that will lead to Sorda.” “Well, its not like we have any better plans,” said Tristan walking down the left path. Ixis just laughed to himself following after. “IT seems you are quite a thinker,” Eric replied, “Though there is no evidence to say that going down this path would be correct, unless I missed something you didn’t.” “Well there is not evidence you use here, so analyzing what we know of Sorda is the only way to choose a path, wouldn’t you say?” Toban said as they proceeded down the path, “Evidence isn’t always there to use, so you have to go with analyzing possibilities over facts.” “Lets just hope your analysis doesn’t get us lost then,” he responded, sounding a little irritated. They had traveled further for a few hours through the tunnel, and eventually came to a round room. This room had cleary been man made. The top was shaped like a dome top, the walls coming down straight and smooth. The floor looked as though it were made of cement bricks and in the center was a smooth circle that bore the emblem of a Dragon Skull. “I say we continue on,” Eric said looking at the stone passage across the room. They rest nod and begin to walk forward. However as the near the center of the room steel bars block the path, and the emblem in the center circle begins glowing. What is your business with the great Prophet Corsa! Echoed a voice from the emblem. Everyone was taken off guard by the sudden voice. Tristan was the first one to recover. “We are all here for different reasons,” responded Tristan, with his calm smile and smooth voice now regained, “We bare you no ill will or harm, just the answers to our questions.” A moment of silence went by before the voice spoke again, I will grant you passage on one condition, you take care of the intruders that followed you. The group spun around to see a small group of bandits had followed them in. There were 10 bandits, however 1 of them looked rather powerful. Rather than the ragged clothes of the others, he wore black Head band over his light brown hair that extended to the middle of his neck and was brushed back so it wouldn’t get in his face. He wore a red sash across his right shoulder that went down across his front and around his back, going right back up to his shoulder. The rest of his close were a loose fitting brown attire. The brothers readied their stances and Tristan and Toban readied their weapons. Tristan however, noticed something very strange. From his angle he saw the face of a lovely women back in the hallway, and she looked rather sad. He smirked and said, “Tell me, is that lovely women back there your captive?” “I am simply escorting her back to her mother, I am more her protector than anything,” smiled the head bandit, “I was simply asked to take you out on my way back, nothing more.” “Enough of this talk,” Toban said, “We should end this soon so we can see the Prophet.” “One on one matches are more my thing,” smiled the man, “So how about we do that instead?” “Alright,” Ixis said smirking, “Though you do realize that goes in our favor, since you outnumber us.” “True, but I much prefer this kind of fight,” he replied, “However, I’ll have two of my men take the princess with them,” he then pointed at two of them, who nodded and took off with the princess, “by the way, the name is Solda, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” “So, you are one of the Eruo Bandits special forces then?” asked Eric, “The queens personal task force?” “Indeed, it seems you know quite a bit about the Eruo Bandits the,” he smiled, “Though of course we have been after you for quite some time. Its natural that you would do your homework.” “Lets say we start this,” Ixis said, seeming fired up for a fight, “and I’ll even go in first.” One of the Bandits stepped forward, bulling out a Scimitar. The others moved off to the sides so the fight could begin. Ixis was the first to move, charging forth with incredible speed. The Scimitar was swung swiftly at Ixis’s legs, though he easily jumped it still moving forward, bringing up his knee hitting the man directly in the chin, sending him back a good distance. The moment Ixis landed, he leapt into the air towards the down bandit, landing in his gut with his right foot, and immidiatly back flipped a couple feet, perfectly landing back into his fighting stance. The bandit had passed out from the pain. “I was hoping for more of a challenge than this,” he said slightly disappointed, walking towards the side, “guess it is someone elses turn.” “I’ll go,” Eric said waling forward, along with another bandit. Solda only looked on with a smile, happy to see such strong opponents. Without saying another word, the two began to fight. They both Charged forward, however the bandit quickly stopped his advance seeing the speed Eric charged with. While not matching the speed of Ixis, it was still quite impressive. The Scimitar the bandit used was put up so the wide flat end could block an attack. When Eric got close, he lifted up a foot and smashed it into the sword with incredible force. A loud ring could be heard as the bandit bend back a bit from the force and became extremely unbalanced. Taking the opportunity, Eric landed a powerful right hook to the bandits side, and an extremely loud crack could be heard as the ribs broke. The bandit yelled in pain, and Eric swiftly grabbed the bandits right fist with his left hand. He pulled back stretching out the arm, and used his right fist to uppercut the elbow. When he connected another loud snap could be heard as the bandits arm was bent the wrong way from the blow. To finish off the fight, Eric released his grip on the mans wrist and grabbed the bandits head with both hands and delivered a powerful head butt to the man. The bandit fell unconscious to the ground as blood ran down his face. Eric simply smirked to Solda and walked back to the sides, Solda only smiled back and waved forward the next bandit. This time it was Toban who stepped forward, “I don’t feel like waiting, how about you just send the remained five at me, and we’ll let you fight with Tristan over there,” Solda only chuckled at the enthusiasm and waved forward the others. They all readied their Scimitars as Toban had out his sword and shield. The fight was over fast. Toban had simple weaved around and deflected shots with his shield and made swift incapacitating blows to the enemy. It was under a minute before they had all fallen, “I believe you can handle the rest Tristan,” Toban said walking off to the side. “Of course,” he smiled holding his axe, “I just hope my foe isn’t as weak as yours, I’d like to enjoy this round.” “Oh I promise I will be much more of a challenge,” he smiled pulling out a single long sword. He charged forward expecting Tristans movements to be slow due to the size of his axe. However He moved quite fast, and swung the axe Horrizontaly. Solda used his sword at an angle to deflect the axe upwards and quickly swung at Tristans legs. Tristan quickly jumped the swing and spun mid air the direction the axe had been deflected to give him more momentum. The axe crashed down towards Solda, who rolled backwards avoiding the swing. The axe blade scraped across the concrete creating many sparks and leaving a large scrape in the concrete. Tristan stopped the blade when it was directly behind him, the handle pointing forward. He quickly charged at Solda, thrusting the handle at his head. Solda was off balanced by this for a brief moment, so Tristan quickly swung the axe head forward, crushing the blade down on his right shoulder. Solda yelled out in pain as his arm was cleaved off. Tristan backed off knowing that he had won, “You had best cover that up and leave while you can my friend, it seems you have lost this day.” Solda managed a smile as he walked stood up. He had removed his sash and held it against the wound as he walked off, “Soon, my friend, I shall have revenge.” You have done well, Echoed the mysterious voice again, My master will see you now. With that the bars had retracted, and the four warriors proceeded through the tunnel. |
