#1  (p)The Fruit of Youth Okay, so in English class today, we had to pick random words from a box and write a poem based around the words/ideas we got. I got the words "youth" "tree" "memory" and "autumn" and this here assemblage of words is what I came up with. the fruit of youth The brilliant fruit of youth is bore by these branches and the summer's sun this summer, next summer; evermore as winter ends and spring has begun It remembers the autumn as it embraces the spring arms wide open, welcoming Man bears youth upon his shoulder Wearing it out and wearing it thin for all of this he is nought but older sparkle lost from eye, grey hair upon chin He remembers his youth as he accepts his age and knows he shall never bear fruit again Feedback much appreciated! |
