#1 I did not write this but i cant remember who did. First they came for the socialists but i did not speak out because i am not a socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unions but i did not speak out because im not a trade unionist. Then they came for the jews and i did not speak out because im not a jew. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me. |

| | So what I think your message is (and I'm sure you'll correct me if I'm wrong) is that apathy (or inaction) leads to self-destruction...or destruction of self, anyway. I have to assume that's the gist of your meaning, otherwise my next statement is meaningless (lol) : I like the way you present the message- sort of from the backdoor. And no filler necessary. "That problem doesn't apply to me, because I'm not a part of that group." "We're all in this together," kind of thing? But surely the narrator's self is a topic that effects the narrator, so why does "he" (for short) not speak out for himself? Perhaps, because one needs more than one's self to have an impact? I'll leave it at that for now. |
