Thread: Casino Royale

    Default Casino Royale

Just got back from seeing this, and it was bloody brilliant. This is the best Bond since the start of Rogers outings, its that good.

People were questioning whether Daniel Craig would be a good Bond, and I can safely say he is one of the best, far superior to Piece, Timothy and Roger, but still dosent have anything on Sean who's top spot is still safe.

Casino Royale was alot more different than any Bond film you've seen before, alot darker in tone and dosent throw as much action as the last couple of films, not to say there isnt any action at all. There sure is, the first 20 or so minutes are pretty hectic, but you would likely be paying just as much attention to the none action segments. Ive never been as glued to a Poker game as I was in Casino Royale's, the tension was killing me.

If your a Bond fan, you've lilkely to have already seen the movie, but even if your not one, this is the best movie that has been released this year and I recommend it highly. Screw Borat, Casino Royale deserves your time alot more.

Bond 22 is set to release in 2008, I cant friggin wait.

Yeah, I watched it yesterday and it was pretty awesome.

I've never really liked the Bond films, but this was different to the others and I gotta say I'm glad.

However, I didn't like the last part of the film where (SPOILER)everything was all lovely and perfect, at that point I felt the film was being stupid and dragging on. But the "The name's Bond, James Bond" line at the end made up for it, as cheesey as it was.

The (SPOILER)"Shaken or stirred? Do I look like I give a damn?" line was pretty awesome too.

I would like to point out that this is merely one man's opinion.

Also, let the record show that Martyr agrees with this opinion and moves to call it fact.

I like James Bond very much and I am glad that they have started over and went a different route. The last 2 were really starting to get out of hand with gadgets.

I like Craig but I am not calling him the better than Peirce yet. They played different Bonds with different scripts.

I wish they would maybe bring back some of the Bond Villans they killed in previous movies since they have started over but I think they have stated that we will not see Blofeld, Goldfinger or any one else. I really wonder how they will build up this organization (SPECTRE is out and SMERSH is not going to work either) that Bond will try to tackle over the next few movies.

I thought it was absolutely awesome. I especially liked the Vodka Martini line. As well as (SPOILER)Richard Branson getting searched.

EDIT: And the bit with the 'rope and chair' brought a new meaning to pain. I was squirming in my seat.

I don't think you can really compare Brosnan and Craig. The Bonds they played had completely different personalities which the actors seemed to be the perfect cast choice for.

Brosnan was an amazing ladykiller-Bond while Craig is a great tough guy-Bond. While they both dabble in both categories, they really shine in one side or the other.

Honestly, it's all preference. Though I can say I was extremely skeptical walking into the theater Friday, and left completely satisfied.

I'm fairly sceptical of Craig. He does not have the right look of a Bond IMO. And I don't really care enough about Bond to bother going to see whether my suspicions are justified or not, so... evs. I suppose if the chance comes up I'll see it, but between Connery and Brosnan, it's hard to envision he has a chance.

Craig is frickin' awesome, second only to Connery (the face of Bond).

Craig is certainly a less wooden actor than Brosnan, Moore, and (god forbid) Dalton.

Roger Moore is the Bond for me.

I haven't seen this new Bond, and I'm not really that invested in it.
