Another Advent Children Update:
Recent actions seem to be supporting the story reported here and elsewhere that the film may be looking at a limited theatrical run to support its release on DVD. Originally solicited for a November, 2005 release, some sources began listing a January, 2006 release date for the DVD before the idea of a limited theatrical release started floating around. A March 28th, 2006 DVD release date has now been announced by distributors for the film but no more news about theatrical exhibitions surfaced as yet. It sounds like this will be like a lot of theatrical anime releases in the US - keep checking the schedules for your local independent and art house theaters if you hope to have any chance of catching Final Fantasy: Advent Children on a screen any bigger than the one in your living room.
