Argh - I did it before I saw the 'white background' part! Hope its ok.
As I work in pastels (chalks that are about 8mm thick) and you wanted a full length pic, I couldn't get much detail. So its not my best work, but the best I could manage given the size and detail. Still, I have 2 more shots to redeem myself!
Uh, I forgot to tell you guys... You weren't supposed to start. Mum sent me her first entry, but please don't get angry at her for getting a jump start on the competition, I merely forgot to tell you guys something. For those of you already starting/finishing up on these first entries, it's fine, but I just don't want any uproar about someone doing better because the other person had more time or something.
Right now all you guys have to do is wait for more requests to come in, and most likely on Wednesday, if we don't have enough requests, I'll just set some random ones for you guys.
So, until we get all the requests, the entries aren't due (which is why I haven't set deadlines yet), so you can start if you want, though it's not necessary, but you don't need to turn anything in until I set the deadlines. Mum is therefore ahead of you, but this was just a misunderstanding by me, so don't riot please =P
We'll just wait a couple days for the requests to come in then this challenge will begin.

Obviously it shouldn't be drawn solely as a portrait, add some creativity in it to make it somewhat unique. Though it'd be nice if you could work with the dark colors of the images, just be...creative or something!

I would like to see a landscape, the dimensions can be anything you're comfortable working with. I want equal parts earth, water and vegetation, and absolutely no human life at all reflected in the picture. The geography can be arid, desert, mountainous, rainforest, tundra, anything you with, as long as earth, water and vegetation are all accurately represented. I don't want to see a river flowing through a desert or the ocean next to the rainforest.
The time of day is also up to the artist. The thing I want to see the most is the evocation of feeling. If you want the landscape to seem lonely, I want to feel lonely when I look at it. If you want it to seem cozy and homey, I want to feel like I'm at home. You may use any technique, medium and color palette you wish. I'm making this request of both teams. I think tan said I could do that. If I'm wrong, please let me know xD
EDIT: Apparently I already goofed. I can only select one team! I select Mum and Omecle for my landscape.
