Default The Best game covers and disc/ cartridge covers

Which FF do you think has the best game cover and the best dic cover, looking at FFX-2 i say it wins for best disc cover, with FFVIII's disc 1 in second place.

For the actual game cover I think that VIII deserves it
If you're not familiar with all of them here they are

I don't recognise any of the later pictures. Silly foreign packaging.

I like the box art of FFX-2 and the disc art of FFVIII. Of course, mine are the UK versions, and so are different from the pictures you posted.

VII's VII's is the most boring one, it's so plain.

The UK cover art totally beats any of those. Simple plain white background with the FF logo. Basic, effective, it stands out and easily signifies the game as part of the series. Of those, the best is probably FFIX, cause it's got a splash of gold, but I like the FFX one too.

I think Final Fantasy VIII for the cover but the best disc is FFX-2

    Which FF Character Are You?

    Second Character: Tidus
    Third Character: Yuffie

Out of those posted, VI is the most awesome. But V is amazin too. Bartz looks like a superhero ^_^

Final Fantasy 7, Cloud looking up and shinra hq, with the big sword and spiky hair, I think is a classic image. The culmination of the Midgar section of that game is in that building, the cover is simple but sweet. I think another part of this discussion should be the best end disc screens where I think Final Fantasy VII wins hands down with its beautifully rendered pictures of the main characters, barret with marlene in Aeris Garden, Yuffie looking over Wutai, etc. Final Fantasy 8's were sort of weird and I don't remember Final Fantasy 9's. I also think Final Fantasy VII had the best "sleep" song too (can you tell it's my favorite game.)

I like the FF IV Advanced packaging

    Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"
