Hello , i love this game, have played it many times.
Its been a while and i just picked up the FF anthology to relive it.
I'm stuck. I dont want to know what time that clock in the inn is
I want to know how you find out.
I dont believe in strategy guides and walkthroughs. so please help me
out. A point in the right direction.

Argh, I don't remember. You can just keep trying the combinations until you get it, it takes awhile but you'll do it eventually. Or you can go around Zozo and talk to people. They are all supposed to be liars, except one, I think, so whatever time they say is not the right one.

To find out the time, you have to talk to all of the thieves in town. None of them tell the truth. So if you talk to a theif that says that the minutes is divisible by 20 then you know that the minutes is not 20 or 40. It's all a process of elimination from talking to the thieves.

Smart whoever pointed out they were liars, I was dumb and listened to everything they said.

The time was either what Doc posted or (SPOILER)6:50:10. I'm pretty sure Doc's answer was right though.

And yeah, I thought that was a pretty cool puzzle but I actually just worked it out by brute force 'cause I'm a lazy bugger. Wound up getting it on like the fifth try or something.
