The wool thing (Chapter 11)
Chapter 11 onwards, you get the option to do that wool... thing. Seriously, is that the most pointless part of this game? Large sheep appear in some places determined by the weather. And you can get wool off them. Which has basically no real value. Arguably the most pointless "thing to do" in FF history. =|
The minisheep are pretty cute, though.And it's funny seeing the initial cutscene. But beyond that, man, what the smurf.

Perhaps it's the remnants of a cut minigame? The initial cut scene did make me laugh though

I've been wondering about the wool myself, but since I gave up on the post game I just assumed it is something I hadn't gotten to yet.
Apparently the wool changes depending on the fog, I've never tried it but I assumed it created some kind of decent component, or something worth selling.
It is pretty random. But... I love the sheep. >: |

Maybe they intended to have something like that available in this game but scrapped the idea for some reason.
Yeah the initial scene with Vanille is sooo funny! I think the wool thing is dumb too, hardly ever look out for the larger sheep!
I wondered wtf to do with it since I got my first piece of wool a good while ago. I didn't sell it or use it because I figured it had to have some use... but no, it's just incredibly pointless.
Yeah I've kept all my wool, chocobo feathers and cactuar stuff and now I'm like "Hold on... I'm at the end of the game..." lol.
