Prince of Persia

Holy smurf. It was awesome. Not even just for the references I picked up. I mean there was real merit in the film. Some of the shots at times were weird, but it was a seriously excellent film.

I also ended up loving Jake Gyllenhaal as the prince too. He grew into the character very well. The other characters were all very well done too, imo.

Death Race

I'm often guilty of loving films that most others would say are horrible. No exception here! There's not much substance to the story. The characters are one dimensional - embarassingly so at times.

But hey. Cars, guns and women. And the guy that played Liu Kang in the Mortal Kombat films.

3/5

Oh and Jiro, it's good to hear to the praise for Prince of Persia. I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch it. I'll check it out.

Crazy Heart.

Why doesn't more country music sound like that?

Also Jeff Bridges is god.

Running Scared: Really good, smurfing weird though. A good 3/5

American Beauty: This movie was actually really good, I went in all biased and came out ecstatic. 5/5

I just watched The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Totally cheesy, but I liked it, and the storyline with the little girl with leukaemia was heartbreaking and very well acted.

Just watched Disney's version of Hunchback of Notredame. I thought the music and animation was great but I really didnt like how Esmerelda ended up with the Handsome Captain and Quasi got shafted (though really I blame the gargoyle's for getting his hopes up). I think the only way to have a "happy" ending was to let Esmerelda die so there would be ambiguity to who she wouldve ended up with. The rest of the movie delt with rather adult themes so i dont see why they couldnt have killed Esmerelda. I dunno the disney ending just didnt seem very "Disney" to me.

Resident Evil CG

2/10

For starters, the CG was nothing spectacular. After seeing something like Final Fantasy: Spirits Within and Avatar this move's CG looks like child's play. The ending like most Resident Evil endings (SPOILER)concluded in a cliche massive explosion. It was great to see familiar characters like Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy, but I wasn't impressed by most of the voice acting. I'm pretty sure I heard Steve Blum too, and I don't see him as good in anything but as Spike Spiegel.

Some of the rest of the voice actors went a little overboard and it came off as a bit cheesy. The sound effects were top notch and the fire looked great. It seems the one thing they know how to do well is making stuff blow up, but there story telling continues to suck even after the (SPOILER)omg my brother is that terrorist twist. It was especially disturbing when Leon noted that (SPOILER)the terrorist turned monster wanted to mate with his own sister because they share dna... Yeah, I wouldn't recommend it. I actually prefer the mostly horrible live action movies with Milla Jovovich over this crap.

I watched Up in the air last night...

I thought George Clooney was brilliant in it, really gave a good performance. I spotted the twist a mile off but i think you were supposed to as its hinted at during the film. The girl playing the character Natalie was very good as well. Very enjoyable film.

Yesterday I watched Prince of Persia. My brother said it reminded him of Disney's Aladdin. Not sure what the hell he smoked there, but I didn't think so. Sure it had building jumping, and sand people, but the two films are too different. One is live action, the other is animation. One is based of a video game, the other had a video game based on it. There's more to go, but I will say that I really enjoyed the movie and its element of changing events through time.

Apparently, I have been declared banished.

Iron Man 2. Just saw it for the 2nd time over the weekend, because my dad didn't get a chance to go with me the first time I saw it. I didn't think it was better than the first one, but it was still a good movie nonetheless. 7.5/10

Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"
