#1  1905      This is 1905 Cries, screams, engines, explosions, and gunshots. These are the sounds that fill the world of Alternate Earth in the year 1905. The world has gone under a global depression wrecked upon by a world war that started eight years ago. No one really nows what caused the war initially, but France sparked the largest conflict when they retaliated against Spain when their king Benoit Francois was assassinated on July 15 of 1897 by a rogue Spanish military officer. Spain had claimed that the officer was not apart of their army anymore, but France didn't believe it of course and saw the attack as an attempt to overthorw their country. Naturally Spain was allies with Italy, Portugal, and England, so when they were attacked those allied countires assisted Spain in their defense from France's assault. France also had their allies as well and when they found out that Portugal and England were assisting Spain, France brought their allies, Greece, Russia, and Austria into the conflict scaling the battle into a huge war. France battles on believing they are protecting their country and will go all the way to punish Spain and their allies and to conquer the European treacherous nations with their force. In that time the United States and Canada were claimed to be neutral, but they were secretly lending food, ammunition and fuel to England and Italy. Even though they weren't directly involved with the fight, they were suffering from costs of lending the supplies to England. England and Italy constantly asked for more supplies but never paid back for them which slowly put the US and Canada into a recession.They remained under the neutral scope for the first six years until a US cruise ship was attacked by a Greek naval ship forerunning uS into the infantry assault and when they joined Canada followed afterwards. Now in this last year of the world's greatest war things only look gloomy as the world declines into a depressing land of povery, misery, and massacres. The innocent citizens protest that this war ends, but will they be heard? Will this war ever end and will the innocent citizens be able to survive when or if it does? The question will soon be answered. Welcome to the Game Hey everyone here is the RP to start everything off. Ill give you a little more detail about the setting of the world before I explain the rules of the game and the profile format. This is set in an alternate version of Earth in the year 1905. In this alternate version of Earth certain elements exist in it that our Earth doesn't. One is that the use of magic is real in this earth, but it is extremely limited in power. Nearly all humans can use it without the assistance of a magical instrument, but magic is less accurate and effective without one. Those instruments are usually wands and staves. Waves are availabe to the common person, but staves are more efficient and available to mostly the rich and powerful. The extents of magic go to creating 4-mile radius explosions by the combined power of about 18 people. Magic in this world does not grant teleportation or flight, but it can make objects float around in the air the limits to something roughly the weight of the caster. Like many of you are familiar with magic in this world can cast fire, lightning, ice, water, posion, blind, water, holy, darkness and earth spells. all children have education for them to deal with their abilites. All forms of lights on street lamps, to refridgerators and in-door lightings, are powered by magic. The only electrical means of light exist in vehicles. Despite this being 1905 the technology, architecture and clothing styles in the world are more on the level of 1920. The major modes of transportation are by steam engines and trolleys. The rich can cars, but most get around by foot or sometimes horseback. Profile Time! Hey all. Here's the format for profiles here. Also include a city) Armed Forces: (Meaning if you're in apart of any nation's armed forces.) Division: (Army, Navy, Air Force etc. if you answered Yes to Armed Forces also include if they're a gunner, mage, or if they're out of the action filling out paperwork or managing costs and resources.) Bio: A brief or long description or your character's history in Alternate Earth. Alright when I decide to start this you can basically start off wherever your character is and how he or she is doing this current world of war. | | Name: Damon White Gender: Male Age: 21 Appearance: An African American of thin build with short cut hair. Has a small scar on his face that crosses over his right eyebrow. Location: Rome, Italy Armed Forces: Yes Division: Army Gun-weilder Bio: Two years before he was drafted he was living with his mother and younger sister in the slums of Philadelphia. He has an older brother too, but he had left home as soon as he turned eighteen to take care of a family of his own. Even before the war times were always hard for his family. Living in poverty as a colored in America in those times were arduous. His father left his mother only after a couple of weeks after Damon's older brother was born. He said he was going out to pick something up and just never returned. When the war arose he was a bit anxious like any young man would be. He was hoping that the army wasn't going to choose him because of his small frame, but they did anyway and in his time of training he picked up a few pounds of muscle. He had never imagined war like this. He saw death about everyday after he was sent off to Rome. Most of the deaths he saw weren't combat related either. People died from all forms of disease and accidents when handling trains and other machines. He's sent out in two days for battle. Can he stand another day in this hell? |

 | Profile Hey, I'm new to this but I think being an author might help.  Name: John Lankastr (just like that) Age: 24 Location: Wales, UK Armed Forces: No Appearance: Stubble sharply defined on his face, John stands out in a crowd by wearing a clean white cloak with no shoes that somehow stays crisp and clean. Athough he looks poor, he actually has an incredible sum of money, and carries around a stave. Bio: Not even he knows too much about his life, as he has blocked out every year until he was 17. He has no relations he can find. He is taking a world-wide trek to try and uncover the whole story on the war and maybe his family too. Has a crisp, British accent, Cockney dialect. He is completely neutral in politics. I feel I must mention this also: On the outside, he looks grim and self-concerned. Anyone who talks to him, however, finds that he is the kind of person everyone likes immediately. However, his also earns some enemies for that reason.
