The ring can do much more than turn the wearer invisible. It certainly is more powerfull than a lightsaber.

Quote me this, please. Every source I've seen (And I is a big ole warsie), says they have a standard power source for the setting, not 'teh infinat power'

No, Sauron and the ring are powerful. The ring and random shmuck is ring of invisibility.

And lightsaber. Then I'd saber up the ring. Lightsabers carve up military bulkheads like no one's business. The one ring is toast.
