Michael Angelo Batio is probably the greatest.

Alexei isn't as good as some, but what he composes is fantastic.

In my sincere opinion, Phil Keaggy is the best musician to ever pick up a guitar.

He's not too well known amongst non-guitarists, and understandably so. Heck, he's not even that well known amongst guitarists. He's a Christian recording artist. And, interestingly enough, he's missing a finger. Yet he still manages to play stuff that I couldn't dream of playing. And I've been working at it for a while now!

But I also love Kirk Hammet (because I love Metallica, shut up), Angus Young, Dimebag Darrell, and my older brother Joe. That guy is nuts. It's like unreal how good he is. You don't expect to meet people who can play like him in real life.

It's a shame not many people listed Santana or Hendrix, the best to ever play imo. So yeah, Hendrix and Santana.

My favorite has got to be Andy Powell from Wishbone Ash (i have a plectrum of his!!!

also i love David Gilmour and Joe Satrianni , they are both fantastic guitarists
