Why is Golf so boring? - Page 3

I don't like golf either. I find every sport terribly boring. The few times I have tried to play golf I couldn't even hit the ball

My brother is obsessed with it though. I guess it's like any hobby, you don't see the appeal unless you simply do.

I would never play golf but I enjoy watching it on the TV - I like to watch the Majors and the Ryder Cup. It's much more interesting then bloody cricket anyway.

Golf is really fun to play, but I can't stand watching it on tv.

I love golf.

A lot of technical skill and physical control is needed to play at an elite level. No, it doesn't require running, but the amount of training needed to be a professional at it is no less than other sports, and more than most.

And it inherently sets itself up for dramatic moments because there are pauses to build anticipation between the action, and because you aren't playing head to head, every shot matters in the long run (among the leaders anyway).

Plus it's something you can have on in the background while you are doing something else (like playing games on your computer) without having to commit full attention to it until one of those dramatic moments comes up.

it's a great sport....too expensive and skill intensive for me but it's cool...and i like all the neo tiger woods games
