...Went from zero to the best anime I've ever seen in my life in one night.

Is anyone else watching this masterpiece?

It's a show that's still airing on Japanese broadcasting right now, so far it is up to episode 23 and still going incredibly strong. At it's most basic level it's about a Japanese rock group starting up and including a couple of Jr. High guys. It's incredibly well done and has tons of interesting sideplots. It also has a really good take on keeping to school and life responsibility while being in a band, misunderstandings, and just about everything else. The show progresses at a very believable rate as far as them putting out songs and playing shows, getting recognized, etc. It features some of the best and most well developed characters I've seen in a show, (anime or not) in a good while, and it's just one of the most satisfying shows on television in my opinion. I suggest it to everyone, except those who think anime is hand crafted by Lucifer himself (You'd be surprised).

Am I to understand this is an anime series that is entitled Beck and is about a musical group yet is somehow not about Beck Hansen?

The band decides on the name Beck because that's the name of the guitarists dog. It's interesting because the issue is addressed that there is an American band named Beck. When they release their demo on an indie label overseas in America the guy tells him that they can't have the name Beck out there so he changes it to Mongolian Chop Squad.

I've seen it before, to download, but I've never really been interested. I've heard loads of good things about it, but I've never been moved enough. I'm already obsessed enough with Lament of the Lamb, so it can wait.
