#225 ![]() That is absolutely terrible. He knows exactly what he is doing. Worse than Maradona. Almost, ALMOST, as bad as evil Baron von Henchoz. Also charlie "a whole bunch of players cheat so that's okay" really? Well, a whole bunch of people commit murders. Does that mean it's okay for me to go out and whack some little old granny? |

| | Hold up a second. I know what he's saying isn't exactly right but it's typical to be fuming after such an event, so give the guy a break. Ireland is heartbroken at the moment, and It's not like England where your expected to get into the World Cup. And a word on the cheating business. Are you from Ireland? No. Well I am, and that is not the way we roll. Even though you might get an idea through the press (although I can't see how from England to Ireland?), we don't pass low remarks on the England public, so return the favor. I'm so disappointed. I can't help but feel this is so typical of our luck. I don't want people saying I'm feeling sorry for myself, but I'll try break it down to back this up. First off, Anelka's goal was very lucky in the first tie. A deflected shot that hit off the post and in. In fact over the two ties they didn't even have a clear opportunity. It's the best I've seen Ireland ever play in the second leg, they were hitting way above the belt. We dominated that second game. I can go on and on about Henry's double handball (it almost seemed like he carried it for a while it was that bad) but the reality is we should have had the game dead and buried by full time. Still, it's hard to say we only have ourselves to blame when we were 100% cheated out of it. If an Irish player was in the same position, sure he would have chanced it too. But no-one wants to win the game that way. I think it's a disgrace that the officials never seen this and it taints what was a heroic performance. We should be going to South Africa (granting penalties) but cheating and a shocking decision rob Ireland from everything. It's hard not to be raging. |

| | I was pointing out the hypocrisy, I kind of got over that stuff a while ago thanks. Plus yeah lots of people cheat, so we're all throwing stones in glass houses when all is said and done. And I don't care how upset you are, wishing serious injury on someone is wrong. I might get hacked off but I don't want Martin Taylor to have a broken leg and I don't want Chiellini to get his ankle trodden on. And I'll say again, any player would have done the same, it's just the way football goes. |

| Recognized Member | I don't get what you are trying to accomplish by repeating this. All it means is that it would be X player being a giant dick instead of Henry. It would still be a dick move and one of the worst acts of blatant cheating in international football. He didn't just instinctively throw a hand out there, he did that and then brought it up again to spoon the ball back into his path. And the result of that is the better team and the more deserving team, and a nation that does not often experience national footballing glory has been denied a shot at the WC. Just because there are other players who would have been a giant dick doesn't suddenly make it acceptable to be a giant dick. But Henry's made a career of it in more ways than one so I am not particularly surprised! |

| Administrator | What annoys me the most about all of this is this: Thierry Henry - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia He's won infinitely more than the entire Irish team combined. France go out, so what? You've got a ridiculously impressive medal collection anyway. Let someone else have a chance to shine for once. |
