| | I'M GONNA NEED A NEW PAIR OF PANTIES. Riddle is EXACTLY as I pictured him. I hope this lives up to the book, as this one is my very favorite, and I am highly critical. I hate the movie Dumbledore, and this book is all about Dumbledore, so that may potentially ruin it. |

| | How so? That scene was exactly how I imagined it, down to the layout of the room. I'm excited. I'll be in Britain for the premiere of this one. Hopefully my lack of friend-making skills will not rear its head and I'll find someone to see it with. |

| | Hopefully about as kid friendly as the sixth book. The movies have disappointed me. They've always disappointed me, but it was the fifth that disappointed me the most. Perhaps it will be better now that the last book has been released (then again, they likely wrote the script for the sixth movie before that). The fifth movie proved that the people writing the movies aren't paying an awful lot of attention. I'm not so picky that movies have to be perfect counterparts to the novels, but they really dropped the ball with The Order of the Phoenix. Spoiler: I, of course, refer to the inability to pick up on important plot points. If a majority of the Harry Potter fan base can realize that the locket in 12 Grimmauld Place was the missing horcrux, Hollywood writers should be able to do the same. Hell, they didn't even need to figure it out on their own! It was all over the internet almost as soon as people had finished reading the sixth novel! The movies have proven that they tend to skip over certain important things (like writing Dobby's role out of the fourth movie and almost cutting Kreacher out of the fifth), and I expect more of the same. Such decisions will impact the series negatively down the road. Spoiler: If moviegoers who haven't read the books see the Dobby die in the seventh movie, they're not going to care, and that's a damn shame. That said, I will see this movie anyway. The trailer looks freaking ace, but most trailers do. |
