| Cid's Knight |
#1 Just got back from it. It was good, though I didn't like it as much as Iron Man. Iron Man definitely had the Spider Man-esque style down: taking itself seriously only when the plot really called for it. On the other hand, Hulk never really lightened up. There were some jokey moments, but a good few of them that were between Betty and Bruce fell flat just because of the total lack of chemistry between Edward Norton and Liv Tyler. Personally, I put more of the blame on Liv, just because I think she's a rather poor actress; most of the roles I've seen her in, she just kinda seemed comatose most of the time, and that holds true here. But yeah, there were more than a few moments where you know they were trying to be lighthearted ((SPOILER) ), but they were so awkward I wasn't sure exactly how to respond. Some of the humor was okay, though ((SPOILER) ). The action was good, the special effects were good... some of the plot elements kinda lacked any kind of punch because of how much of the plot exposition they skipped out on. Basically anything established by the 2003 movie was skipped aside from a quick montage in the beginning of the scenes of Bruce getting radiated, Hulking out, etc. So yeah, the father/daughter relationship between the Colonol and Betty just seemed less effective, to me anyway. On the whole it's pretty good. I really can't wait for the rest of the Avengers team movies so we can finally get to the ensemble production. |

| Cid's Knight | Ang Lee made one in 2003, and though it was okay, it took a bunch of liberties with the series. When Marvel started making big money off their royalties, they were able to buy back the movie-making rights to a lot of their comics, including Hulk. So they're kinda trying to start off fresh in hopes of being able to set everything up for an Avengers movie. It doesn't entirely get rid of all that happens in the 2003 flick; like I said, they skip all of the origins of the Hulk and a lot of the lead-up, and they start where the 2003 movie ended, but for the most part they don't dwell too much on plot elements from it other than the fact that Bruce is the Hulk and is on the run from the US government. So it's kind of a sequel, but also kind of a continuity reset. |

| | I liked the movie, but it was still nowhere near as great as Iron Man unlike what the TV previews promised although i knew not to believe them. I already knew about the Avengers movie coming out too before they revealed that at the end so it wasn't much of a surprise. The movie was far better than the one that came out in 03 though. That was trash! |
