Modem/Router suggestions

Apparently it's impossible to buy modems anymore!

I need to get a DSL modem and router, either together or separately. Please be cheap 8) the choices boggle my mind, though

If you're going for cheap, I'd suggest a Linksys WRT54GL flashed with dd-wrt. You're enough of a techie to be able to handle that! My normal router suggestion is the beastly D-Link DIR-655, but that'll run you about 40 bucks more.

The DSL people don't give you/recommend you a modem?

No. It's AT&T and they want $62.05 for it.
