Default Headphone jack bullpoopie

So I finally got a pair of headphones for my computer. Everything was fine for a few days, but when I took them out an hour ago, there was a red light on in the headphone jack. Apparently that means my computer thinks my headphones are still plugged in, so no sound is coming from my speakers. Restarting didn't help.

So yeah. Now I can't use my speakers any more. Someone fix this.

I'm laughing. Have you tried plugging them in and then restarting your computer?

I'm laughing as well, because I always have bad luck with headphones. xD

And yeah, try what Cim said. And if that doesn't fix it, unplug your speakers and reconnect them. And if that doesn't work, maybe it's something to do with your sound settings on your computer.

You know damn well I use a laptop. >_>

I managed to fix it buy shutting it off, removing the battery, and stabbing the inside of the headphone jack with a paper clip. >_< So I guess I'm never going to use headphones with this laptop again.

My laptop speakers aren't crap. :P (My headphones are crap, however.)

If this ever happens again is there a better way to fix it? Like some way to disable the headphone jack entirely?
