XBox 360 disc tray problems

Most people have disc trays the won't open. But I have the opposite problem mine is stuck OPEN. I have been unable to find anything able to help me. any ideas?
PS i got my 360 a week ago exactly and it was not an accidental problem as far as I know so I could send it back but I don't want to.

If you only got it a week ago you should be able to return it to the store pretty easily.

Yea i could take it back to best buy but If I do that Ill definitley not get my hard drive back so ill prolly send it to microsoft so i have a chance of getting my data back

Exactly how much data did you get in a week? It's really not worth it to send it in if it's just a bit of save data. Look at it this way. Whatever you did in a week you can do again in less than a week. If you send it in, you won't have an Xbox for 2-4 weeks.

If you bought Live Arcade games or DLC, though, those won't work on a new console offline unless you send it in to get repaired. (And a lot of the time, not even then. xP)

yea i brought it back today to best buy no problems and my data wasn't even a lot i did maybe the first missions in Cod4 and Halo 3 so no problems

EDIT crap forgot about map packs! oh well

Well, you should be able to use the map packs as long as you're connected to the internet and using the gamer tag you originally used to download them.
