Default Heavy Rain for PS3

YouTube - Heavy Rain (PS3 TECH DEMO)

http://www.ageia.com/flash/heavyrain.swf

This is insane. If this game is as good looking as this when it launches then the true quantum leap is clear to me. (I'v read too many things about how PS3 has done nothing the 360 can't do.) Well... what are your thoughts on this.

Discuss.

Not really impressed, and no I'm not a sony hater, I just don't care for graphics in my games, the gameplay makes the game, not the graphics. I'll admit they look nice, although slightly creepy.

Seen it. Not sure why people find it so impressive.

I know that gameplay is imporntant. This video only show how far the Cell can go in terms of graphical capability.(that seems to be the fad right now.) I'm not sure what the gameplay will be like but if they took this much effort in building the engine, the gameplay will be fleshed out in time. I think that developers have finaly disided to stop hiding from the complications of developing for the system. Only time will tell But I think things are realy looking up for PS3 fans. I have yet to buy one but I'm saving up for it.

The animation is superb and for the most part it's really well put together, but that facial design is really weird. It's like they modelled it after a real person's face but left out most of the subtle details that make them look human and not like a weirdo.

Thats true. The face had little quirks that mad it less real then it could have been. Still...it looked damn close to CG when you got a medium shot. I noticed that the details in the certain and the potted plant as well as the rest of the room all had a bit of physics and acted verry well. If they can some how fix the lighting in the mouth and the eyes then it would be hard to tell it was even a render. Some stuff still needs fixing such as the lipsyncronisation and mabe the sound. Dose anyone know what the story might be...or even a possible launch date? I just found this on youtube after all. I'm going to keep reserching this cause it definitly has my intrest.

Definite uncanny valley material.

Apparantly this was running on non final PS3 hardware and the engine was in the research and development phase at the time (This was E3 last year, it's pretty old).

Apparantly her face was fully motion captured, so I'm not sure why it seems so rigid. Her eyebrows don't move much. Her mouth looks weird but that seems more like a problem with the model.

Also the way that light shines on the side of her face that should be covered by the hair bothers me, but that's barely noticeable.
