Well, it depends on the world I suppose, but in Ivalice, at least, Moogles are most definitely capitalists. Take Nono, as a prominent example, although by no means the only one. In FFTA, he gets his own airship, and he is forced to convert it to a merchant ship, buying and trading, to pay for repairs due to hit and runs (he had apparently not gotten airship insurance yet). Throughout FFXII and FFXII RW, Nono is working as the mechanic on Balthier's airship, the
Strahl. We learn later in FFTA2 that he was doing this to save up money so that he could build his own airship. There are plenty of examples of Moogles buying, selling, and trading, quite happily and with many a "kupo". As long as they don't get shafted (such as the poor shmuck who tried to sell a Moogle a 20,000 gil hammer).
