Question about Yoshi-taka Amano artwork?

Hello

Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the FFI forum...but supposedly this artwork is a promotional drawing for FFI. However, if I'm not mistaken the drawing strongly resembles the first tier of the final boss of FF6, everything from the face, to the hands and clenched fist. I don't even remember where I got this picture from, but the filename says FFI. Does anybody know for sure which game it's for, or if it is for FFI, which character it corresponds to?

I'm moving this is into General FF.

Its called in some circles Light Warriors Battle Demon and it was concept art for FFI. Its not surprising that they go back use older art pieces to create new creatures.

Looks like Alexander summon right?

Its actually from FFIV and its the original concept art for the Giant of Babil.

Oh ok thanks for moving the thread, and for explanation.

That's actually pretty cool! That's one of the things I love about the FF series, how even though the games generally have nothing to do with each other (with exceptions of course), there's threads of continuity and common elements that fans can recognize

I've always thought the bottom part of Goddess from FFVI resembles Edea from FFVIII, whom Nomura designed as kind of a tribute to Amano's style.

This would be the last sort of cool thing Nomura would do before disappearing up his own abdominal cavity for The Bouncer, FFX, and so on. At least he kind of relented for Dissidia.

Which makes it even more disappointing that the Giant just looks like some big, clunky tokusatsu monster in the remake. FFIV could use some Alexander.
