An interesting idea for the banner problem would be to do the same thing they did back in the early days, having a seperate area for the 'banner ad'.
Eyes on Final Fantasy Naturally it would require some further effort in design but it might be doable. Not sure if it would look much better, though... as I said earlier, talk to Warren and see what he says.

I agree with BoB. If an ad is necessary it should in no way interfere with any artwork. That is just so tacky. If that can be fixed it would be 100% better.

Those huge ads though are the utmost of tacky. I can also see our registered member list dropping if we continue having those. What are Warren and Co. thinking?

Yes, and if you've read the thread you might have noticed that we have Adblock and we still see the ads on the front site.

It might be because ads get recycled. Same thing happens when I visit sites regularly with new ads. Just keep adblocking and sooner or later they should stop appearing. Edit- Only if you can adblock frames or images.

It doesn't always work, since half of the time, the ads don't appear as an image, but text links. Some are in frames, some are not. Depends on the roll.

Two cents: color scheme got an upgrade, but the general layout and viewer friendliness dropped (more than one grade, too). I suggest Sephiroth spam in order to lure all of the stupid sheep. Ads need to be moved around as to not to interfere with content; having a whole section on the side the whole page down would probably be much better than a big giant thing at the top. Alternatively, you could just stick a couple of picture of the FF girls and great tentacle rape, and watch the money pile up, but that probably wouldn't be the best of ideas.

Seriously, I have no control over the ad placement, this was discussed when I first started and trust me my language in the discussion about it all was not something I could repost in the public part of the forum, but I was flat out told they cannot be moved and must be worked around so I've tried my best. If you would like to see an altertion to the ads I would recommend PM'ing Warren and Co and speaking to them about it. As for the other suggestions I'll try my best to get them added and sorted.

Also in reply to the fact people think the site is less usable and less user friendly, reasons and examples please so I can fix or ignore as nessary

Black orbs banner is fantastic. The ad placement sucks balls. Not much I can say about the general layout that I haven't said before.
