Tell her to have a collection of stones handy, to practise with them for hours every day, and to throw them right in the eyeball of anyone who says anything like that.

If it's an issue where it's harming her health, then it's some of her friend's business. If it's not, then it's nobody's.

One of my friends thinks she's 'fat' (I really hate that word so much) and one time at a pub a lady asked her if she was pregnant and my friend punched her, I wouldn't recommend punching people, but it would stop them from calling you fat. I think it's really rude to comment on peoples weight, especially if you don't know the person.
