#1 EoFF: BAoTW Forever Aka, smurfing finally you lazy bastard. 5 or so years ago, inspired by this wonderful thread I decided to make an RPG based on EoFF and BAoTW. What would it be like if the Cid's Knights really were just like the Shinra? Yes, I appreciate the irony that two or so years into the process, I got my very own Shinra title. I now present to you the RPG I spent so long working on. But really, the only reason it took so long is because I am apathetic and incredibly workshy! I have titled it EoFF: BAoTW Forever. You snooze, you lose, 3D Realms! The Forever title is now mine. If you don't know what BAoTW were, we were a bunch of super cool dudes united by a love of walruses, spam, and the colour blue. We ruled. I hope you'll have a lot of fun and laugh. Some of the humour is in-jokey, some of it is just plain stupid, but I hope there's at least one joke in there for everyone. DOWNLOADS SUPER STU EDIT: All downloads you need are available here! If you have RPG Maker 2000 and the RTPs, you will only need this: (clicky) just run setup.exe and you're good to go. If you don't, download that, then go here and download RTP and RTP 1.32 Addon. and install those, and then the BAoTW game itself. That site also has a font fix and Harmony.DLL should problems arise. EDIT: DISREGARD. We DDoSed it. Sorry, guy who runs that site when you check why your site has gone down. We're jerks. Check a post of mine later on in this thread for more RTP links. EDIT2: Here is the RTP and BAoTW in one big 26 MB package. No idea how well it works but whatever, try it. Sorry for all the downloading, but on the plus side, you can now play other RPG Maker 2000 games too! PRO-TIP: Press F4 if you ever want to minimise it (to a tiny size ) should you not want full-screen. Although full-screen is obviously better.VISTA 64-BIT? Your stupid computer might not be able to run this. 32-bit works fine. I've heard of some 64-bits that CAN make it work, but you might be screwed and there's not a lot I can do because I didn't make RPG Maker. Sorry. Play it on your mom's computer or something. Mind you, check this thread as it looks like Namelessfengir is onto something maybe. OLD (4+ YEAR OLD) DELL?: There is a known sound problem for ancient Dells that both I and Levian have experienced. Please load up your game and don't select new game. I know you want to, just hold on. Can you hear music? If so, bitchin', off you go. If not, welcome to the club. Levian has fixed his by doing this. However, if I open up a midi file in Windows Media Player and press "stop" and then leave WMP open, it works for me, so you can try either of those. SCREENSHOTS Spoilered for your convienience. (SPOILER) GAMEPLAY It's your traditional JRPG, filled with hatred and cynicism. It is incredibly easy - it is not supposed to be anything but a stroll in the park. You don't want to fight stupid snakes or bats or whatever meaningless nasties every 5 steps in some jerkoff's stupid RPGMaker game. There's also a whole plethora of optional side areas (such as General Gaming. It's at the very north west tip!) quests, guilds to join, super secret ultimate weapons for all the characters, crazy hard optional secret bosses, easter eggs, and so on. I prefer the exploration aspect to RPGs to the grind, so yeah, go hog wild and see what you can find. CONTROLS Pretty straight forward. Arrow keys to move, enter key to talk and what have you, escape key brings up the menu. And as I said before, F4 to make it windowed! Sick Irony was better than this. Yeah, well we'll see who gets a better review in the New York Times. (HINT: it won't be BOU, he can't afford kickbacks on a sasquatch's salary. )Am I in this game? Chances are, yeah, yeah, you really smurfing are. Check the attached text file for a full list of who is in it. |
