Its stuiped calling them diffrent names (no offence to people who do) ff should stop putting the that thing to make them change names they cant intoduce them selfs when Tidus finds that sphere that Yuna made before going to the Zanerkand about how much she liked everyone i wasnt sure who she was talking about until he comes on the screen it could have been anyone she said the newest member .

I ususally stick with the defaults the first couple of times playing through the game. Then, someday that I'm maybe a little bored, I'll give the characters new names.. sometimes silly names, other times not.

I had an interesting game where my friend was obsessed by this guy named kevin, so tidus became T'Kevil, and I think she wanted to name the aeons after her pets, so valefor was sierra and ifrit was close to being boogerbear, but I think we stopped before then.

but anytime I played it after that she'd shriek 'OMG SIERRA'

Why would they? Tidus is referred to by name in every Blitzball game, and one of the Aurochs calls him by the given name in Kilika (after Sin's attack).

No, it was just text, since the Aurochs don't really get voice actors when alone. I believe Letty said it, but I can't be sure.
