Default The elevators in Ultimecia's Castle...

Alright, fairly early in Ultimecia's Castle you'll find some elevator contraption: standing on the one side will cause the other one to go up, and if you step off it, it will go back to its initial position.
However, I find it hopeless to handle this correctly.
I mean, I understand that I'm supposed to let the one party stand on the left side, and get them up by having the other party stand on the other side - the problem is, the second party always STEPS OFF the elevator whenever they reach the bottom, having the first part to go down again.
This is very annoying, because I wanna check out the surroundings on the other side.

Could you please help me?
I don't have the patience to look up some huge Walkthroughs, so getting advice from you would be far easier.

Yeah of course coming to EoFF where posters will post about 20 minutes plus after the topic starter is WAAAY faster than going to a walkthrough and just searching it for the solution.

It's threads like this that make me wonder why I bother working on the main site. Take for instance, the awesome FF8 walkthrough this site has, that I wrote. Totally underappreciated ;_;

Anyway, here's how to do it:
  1. First things first, you need to make one party heavier than the other. In other words, one group should have two or more girls in it, the other having two or more guys.
  2. Best time to do this is after defeating Gargantua in the Treasury.
  3. Return to the Party Changer (at the Floodgate) and switch to the party that will explore the new area (the LIGHTER, FEMALE party), flipping over the junctions as well.
  4. From the Entrance Hall, go up the stairs and head to the left.
  5. Follow the path along until you reach the elevator room.
  6. Step onto the left Party Changer and perform the switch.
  7. Remember to flip your junctions across, and then go up the stairs to the left.
  8. Ignore the Save Point, and step on the right Elevator.
  9. Switch back to the exploratory party, flipping the junctions once again.
  10. The Elevator the lighter party is on should now be higher and can walk into the new area.
  11. Once they're done exploring, it's fairly easy to get back. Return to the Elevator and stand upon it, switching back to the heavier party.
  12. Have them step off the elevator, and it'll rise up, lowering the left-hand one at the same time, including the lighter party.

If there's any one apart of that I'm wrong about, it's the party arrangements. It might be remotely possible that it has to be a 2:1 ratio in each party, rather than a possible 3:0, but that can be fixed easily enough =P
