#1  FMV's I am putting an offer out there for anyone who wants it. I have all the FMV's from all 4 dics on my computer. They are in .str format and you will need a player to view them, which I can also provide. I have looked into converting them into avi but some quality is lost in the process. The str files are much smaller and the quality is superb. So if you want em let me know. I will hook you up. If anyone knows a process that I can do to convert these to a more user friendly format, without losing any quality and also keeping the size as small as the str. If you know how please let me know! | | Instructions for your own use FF8 FMVs Requirements: You need two programs, ff8cdstr.exe and ff8cdfnd.exe. I have these but I am not going to host them somewhere for people to grab. If you want them I guess I could email you them. They are tiny, 80k total size. Good luck on finding the right ones on the net, if you find them at all. Took me awhile and I'm good! Then you would follow the below instructions. Create a directory on your local c: called PSX, (c:\PSX) Put the two files I give you in this directory. Drop to DOS (Start-->Run; type in "command.com"; Click on OK) Change directories to c:\PSX (type: cd \PSX) Insert the disc which you wish to extract FMVs from. At prompt Type: ff8cdfnd D:ff8discN.img where D: is the drive letter of your CD-ROM and N is the number of the disc (1-4) This will generate ff8cdadr.ini, which contains the exact addresses for the beginning of each FMV. When thats done then do the following: At prompt Type: ff8cdstr D:ff8discN.img X-Y where D: is the drive letter of your CD-ROM N is the number of the disc (1-4) X is the first FMV you wish to extract (from 0 to m) Y is the last FMV you wish to extract (from 0 to m) m depends on which disc you are extracting from disc 1 contains 31 FMVs (numbered 0 to 30) disc 2 contains 34 FMVs (numbered 0 to 33) disc 3 contains 32 FMVs (numbered 0 to 31) disc 4 contains 7 FMVs (numbered 0 to 6) See the FMV listing below Now you will end up with a bunch of .str files and you need a player. The player I use is 334k and works great. Its called PSXPLAY, if you cant find it I can also send you that. Even dialup users would be able to grab this off me.
