You can go to chocobo forests, get the Ragnarok, and play Triple Triad. With Tonberry you can access any shop you've been to before. That's about it.

And if memory serves, FFV cuts most of the overworld towns off the map near the end as well.

Three words: Jail break "showcase". It's so bad and horribly embarassing I actually turn off my monitor because it's so painful to watch.

About Irvine remember Edea, I think he did. He basically states...

"Matron is Soceress Edea."

Now, I could be mistaken, but the statement sounds like something he already knew. If he didn't know, I would think that he wouldn't be so straightforward.

Now back to topic, the dumbest moment in my opinion was having to constantly save Rinoa. I mean, come on! Can't I let her die?

here is a dumb and questionable issue, pay attention guys: in FFs you are given the possibility to ride chocobos, in FF8 in chocobo minigame his friends are tornberry and cactuar. Now, if chocobo is your SLAVE, everything makes sense. But, if he's your FRIEND, then why are tornberry and cactuar your enemies?

Never played the mini-game, but you can recruit a Tonberry and Cactuar as GF's by defeating them. So you could have all three as allies, if not necessarily friends.

If Tonberries and Cactuars the party fights in FFVIII do not include the ones that chocobo knows in the mini-game, then there's no contradiction. I would assume the bulk of Cactaurs and Tonberries do not know chocobo personally.

Unless the Cactuar and Tonberry in the mini-game specifically appear in FFVIII as well, like say Jumbo Cactuar and Tonberry King.
