It's not just you. I've noticed black orb is now 'pink orb'. Sometimes the CKs will change avatars and usernames for fun. They'll change it back. One time everybody had TMNT avatars.

I really don't think I can explain a lot more without giving the riddle away, but I'll do so anyway.

The answer has some properties of an item (picked up and carried with you), and some of an object (used on a map, not a menu), so I said it's both. There aren't many items like that.
