I think it looks fun. It's supposed to be a shooter, and that's what it is. I think it's good Final Fantasy is crossing into other genres while keeping the main series RPG-oriented. Everything else does it...Star Wars is movies, RPGs, Real-Time Strategy games, FPS, board games, and novels. It's normal for franchises to expand as much as possible, but for some reason Final Fantasy is taking tons of crap for doing what everybody else already does constantly.

That said, I'm renting it and then waiting until it drops to ten dollars to buy it (if I liked it) Mmm hypocrisy, yummy <3! There's just too much else coming out this year for me to drop 50 on a shooter that will be relatively short. And I'm one of the few that thinks FFXII is a stroke of genius (based on what I've seen and the demo I played), so the moolah is going straight to that.

I am glad to see people and the few import reviews I read bitching that there's too many cutscenes though. I'm a plot whore and I want as much story as possible

Let's also not forget that they played the import version and their biggest fault was the control scheme which, from the video I posted, looks a lot better. IGN recently gave the game American release of the game a solid 7/10. Not amazing, but not as horrible as many seem to want to believe.
