I'm confused by your reasoning, why is it all of us had to pay to see it? While you get to download it and watch it for free. I'll be honest I had the choice to download it a long time ago, (before it even came to the states) but I didn't. Square invested millions of dollars into this movie and if you truly like Final Fantasy, you would go out and buy it.

I was lucky enough to watch the Japanese version before it came out in the UK.
One of my friends burned it on DVD and commanded me to watch it. :x
After that I decided to buy it.
You could always download BitTorrent or something like that.
