#1 Okay, normally I dont start such topics but I'm really curious, it's driving both me and my flatmate crazy. In the movie, Tifa wears a thick silver ring on her right hand. Can anyone see what it is? It's shown up close as she smacks the bed with her hand at one point, and it can be seen from a distance a few times, but I still cant tell what it is, and I think the answer can be very interesting. Especially if it's a Fenrir head or something. So if anyone knows or can get a good screenshot, please share! <3 edit: Oh, and from what I can tell, she and Cloud are wearing the exact same rings. A few people have said the same to me, so yay *squee* Last edited by Pins; 09-14-2005 at 06:27 AM. |

| | it doesn't mean they're married or anything, the ribbons and ring have to do with eastern customs. Wearing a ring on your finger doesn't have the same meaning in places like China and Japan as it does in America, and in China wearing ribbons means that a strand of string will still connect you. |

| Cid's Knight | I suppose the rings show that they consider themselves somewhat boud to each other by something undying, but I don't think it's a sign of love (unless you mean deep friendly love). We should ask a Japanese person for possibile meanings, I think. That's the best I could come up with...sorry if it's not of much help... |

| Recognized Member | Well the rings could mean anything, really. It's not as though the Japanese havent adopted a HUGE amount of Western culture over the years. It could mean romantic love, friendly love, a bond of trust, anything really. The fact that only Tifa and Cloud wear them has to be significant, though. I just wish the shots were clear enough for me to see the details of her ring. |
