I seen adellas site before about 1 year or so ago, the resemblance is freaky.

SE must of got in contact with her asking if they could use her for Aeris Character design because they look almost exactly alike.

Yeah! She's my cosplay idol! XD I don't know, maybe I'll ask her, but I'm kinda afraid, she has a temper and I don't want to get on her bad side. ^^; Hopefully they did ask her, since she looks exactly like her, or they just used her face as reference, don't know. I'll try to ask my cosplay buddies and see if it's true.

I'll do that. ^^ Hell yah, like a loads of people cosplay in America. http://www.cosplay.com mostly you'll see people from America there and other countries too.

Japan does more, but America is pretty big on cosplay. My friends cosplay all the time (quite a few of them are on that site I believe), and I know from experience that a lot of cosplayers (especially the well known ones) are snooty jerks.

I dont think people who say ignorant nonsense about other's enjoyment is anything either, so you have no room to laugh at anyone.

Cosplay isnt for everyone, no. But the people who do it put a lot of time and effort into their work and they enjoy it. That's what the get out of it. Just because you dont understand or like it doesnt mean there isnt anything to it.

I already told you what they get out of it. Enjoyment. The same you get out of your street races, though at least cosplayers arent desperately trying to fit in or make up for a lack of size, nor are they endangering other people in what they do.
