It seems to me that Square cares more about FFVII fans than FFX ones, or at least has the market sense to know that they'll make more money with a really high quality movie aimed at VII lovers. Advent Children has been designed to be full of combat and a dramatic film, so such a stupid ending would really be unlikely.

Yes, Square is more worried about VII fans more, it is obvious. Look at all the new VII games and remakes. DoC, AC, this one game for the cell phone and from what I heard, a PS2 remake of FFVII. Oh and also, I personally disliked FFX, just simply the worst FF I have ever played...not really my taste. :\
