How much Gil is actually "Tossed" in this attack? It like destroys people but is it worth it?

I never use it, I'm cheap. Well, I guess it doesn't matter in the final battles.

Yes, it is worth it. How much gil is used can be calculated with the FF5 Algorythm/Stats FAQ link above. Look in section 6.7.3.

I never really use Gil Toss except in the final battle since it hits all of Spoiler: Neo-Exdeath's parts for a lot of damage, and spending all your Gil doesn't matter in the final battle anymore. I think another good place for using Gil Toss would be the battle against the 4 Seal Guardians. That boss is really hard, and if you can hurt every Guardian at the same time, that helps a lot.
